Thanks! I've never had a frozen color before and don't want to alter the finish. The dealer even recommended against doing a film, or at least their option. Do you have any recommendations?
Oh good lord. The dealer is an idiot—the PPF has zero effect on the finish. These frozen colors cannot be repaired. I've tried 4 shops from WA to FL and not one of them will even take the job on. Since they cannot be repaired, protect them. Mine is now protected but it's a bit too late.

Get paint protection film immediately—it's an absolute must. I'm living the aftermath.
Hey Limey, where'd you get it wrapped? Any exposed corners? Wondering if mine is sub par. I'm in Olympia.
Only the front and sides are wrapped. There's a stretched piece on the front beneath the headlights but it's been fine so far.

I had it done in Bellevue. Can't recall the name of the shop, though. It's just up the road from where BMW Bellevue used to be. Park Place Autosalon also do it and did all the work on my M5s—I'd recommend trying them.

Do Xpel Stealth plus ceramic coating on top of the Xpel. It will cost you around 7k.

Beautiful car! I have frozen dark grey metallic on my M340ix and love it. I did the front end including the hood and mirrors with Ppf then ceramic all around. It didn't alter the color one bit. People can't tell the difference unless you tell them.
Make sure they ceramic the ppf also by the way. ( Makes it easier to clean the bugs of &#128522 I use Adams matte detailer to keep it clean in between washes and it's a great product. Enjoy you new ride!
Ps total cost was just over $2000 here in Canada. Ceramic was a 3yr guarantee. Ppf was 3m. I don't think you need to wrap the whole car as it is expensive. That's entirely up to the individual of course.

The way frozen paint sharpens the creases of the metal is beautiful. The character line is like a knife edge in your pictures.

(Partial) PPF is a good idea. Ceramic Coating or wax is also highly recommendable. Although many standard wash/detailing products can be used safely, stick to matte-specific products only, at least until you know what you are doing and what to expect.

Look in the correct section of the forum, you will find a topic dedicated to frozen where I have contributed a bit as well

BMW of Seattle actually has decent pricing if you talk to them. They ended up quoting me a cheaper price and a higher trade in value for my car than BMW Bellevue.
BMW Bellevue has a no haggle policy on trade ins supposedly (i got them to go up $1K) but they are firm on their no haggle for used cars (easiest way to lose a customer).

@limeypride is correct. The dealer doesn't know what he is saying. I picked up my M8 comp last month and PPF'd it. When I went to pick it up from the shop 3 days later I literally thought they hadn't done the job. Even upon close inspection I couldn't see the film until I found the wrap edges stealthily hidden around the car.

Use a stealth wrap for your frozen paint. Doesn't alter the color or look. Remains the same and you get the protection you need.

You can drive home with no license plate in your State? Is there some sort of paperwork on the windshield? BTW: very nice car.
