M5C broke down after installing Racechip GTS Black tune

My 2019 BMW M5 Competition broke down after installing this Racechip GTS black tune. i reaches support and they want me to send them the tuning box so they can replace it. that is too much risk. A piggyback tune should have all of its issues worked out before they sell it. i’ve heard these engines are $50k to replace. i have a couple of videos but i can’t seem to post them here. Th car would vibrate and appeared to be running on two cylinders (if that is even possible) before stalling out. it sounded like a Harley Davidson. Support treated me like an idiot as well

My son got the car going by disconnecting the battery for five minutes and he also plugged in the tuner override dongle

Has anyone else had this happen? what should i do?

In September 2019 my car had its low pressure fuel pump replaced because it would stall after starting up. The car has been trouble free since then except for the windshield wipers randomly turning on

ok so when you disconnect how does the car run?

you're the first person ive seen have an issue with this tune.

Sorry to hear that. I had racechip for 6 months with no issues. Sounds like the car might have some underlining issues you might want to check out before putting it back on.

I also had RC Black for months with zero issues. If the engine is all good then get a replacement and move on. I had a similar issue with my S8 and a new unit fixed the problem. Let's face it.. there are always quality control issues and they prob don't test every unit.. you got a bad unit... Get a new one and enjoy.

He got it connected to a wrong sensors.

What is the milage on your car ?
You maybe due for new spark plugs, and with the added boost it could just make it more obvious.

Yup, my money's on O2 sensors, too. Why would BMW use the same connector... at least do something more to distinguish them.

Perhaps they're gonna implement the locked-hood policy to stop us "infidels" from fiddling around.

I seriously doubt you, of all people, ever had an issue with a piggy- well maybe once

In absence of your locked hood policy LOL- they could have put sticker labels on each plug:

"no dummy this is not where the JB4/Racechip goes"

"yes plug your JB4/Racechip here for more power"

They're identical in appearance to the TMAP connectors and hence, easily mixed up.

and the O2 sends out a different voltage which frankly fucks up the Race Chip/JB4 and makes it an electrocuted criminal.
