It's not clear to me at a glance what the BMW and Porsche had for their transmission in this test.

Dang M2 really falls on it's face after 100. I'll just make sure I'm in my tuned F80 in case of any run ins with a TT-RS

So as fast as the RS is in a straight line, and yes, it's freaking fast, it basically ties the much slower M2 on that particular curcuit. It's a small track, too with a well under 2 minute/lap where AWD would be beneficial through tight turns. Is this just another Audi understeering example? I'm guessing the 60/40 weight distribution isn't helping matters either.

Seems like if they are going to do a by the numbers comparison of dyno, 0-60, and lap times they should be using the same transmission in each car if possible. Unless the argument is that no one interested in the numbers would buy a DCT if given the option for a manual, but I don't believe that, outside the US anyway.

Exactly. Bloody useless. Give the M2 that kind of power and it will walk away.

I wasn't going to but now I feel tempted on getting a complete stage 2 done. Intercooler, air filter, downpipe with race cat, exhaust, tune... Why? Because why the hell not? The tuner says it will get 450PS (444 bhp). The same as the M4 ZCP S55.

Will cost me maybe $8k. Fair value for money? Milltek exhaust which is why the price isn't higher.

a 365 bhp M2 is fun. A 444 bhp M2 is a whole lot funner.

M4 ZCP makes 444whp (91oct) - which is like 500bhp.

Is that one of those urban myths or is it any truth behind it?

I drove M3 and M4 ZCP on a track last week and they were fast but I'm not sure they were 500 bhp fast.

I sent them an email asking for some clarifications. To me it seems like 444bhp is a bit too much considering what other tuners have said about the M2 N55.

I just got an F80 ZCP, and I would believe that it's making more than the advertised BHP figures. The car pulls like a freight train, and would probably benefit from more/stickier rear tire - there's a lot of power for sure.

There's some DINAN related threads on the F80/F82 tuning site of Bimmerpost, and if I am remembering correctly, DINAN had a graph that showed the ZCP dynoed at ~507 BHP at the crank before the stage 1 Tune was applied...

Dynojet numbers from the f80 forum. 444whp. Figure 12.5% drivetrain loss for the 500bhp number. You got a lot more modding to do! Btw this is all common knowledge. The non ZCP puts down just about 420whp.
