He's got talent no doubt and maybe one day will be in these conversations (if he continues to mature as a person/driver), but currently he hasn't earned the right to even be in a GOAT driver conversation/much less top three.

MSixer and I have disagreed a ton and sometimes vehemently, but I don't get this argument. It is a fact that the current cars pull more G's etc than the older ones. They are faster in every way requiring quicker reactions etc. One doesn't have to have driven any F1 car to understand this.

I don't think it is a blanket conversation either. I'm sure the cars of the past were harder to drive in certain ways and the current ones are in another way. Yes it is much safer now in every way, but that doesn't have anything to the actual driving of the car. A great driver was/is going to push at all times regardless of the safety factors because that is who they are.

He straight up hates HAM. Perhaps because of the race, perhaps not.

But to leave off the 6 time champion, and someone who has claimed as many wins as another guy on his list, is irrational either way.

VER isn't even ahead of VET right now much less a driver like HAM.

I like VER and I think he could be in the conversation one day. But, as you and everyone here knows, F1 has never been about equal machinery. He definitely has the potential to do it, but that doesn't mean it is guaranteed he will. There are a lot of talented drivers that could challenge him in the future if they have "equal machinery."

This analogy probably won't make sense to our non US friends here. But saying VER is one of the greatest drivers of all time is like saying Gale Sayers is one of the greatest RBs of all time in the NFL. He definitely had the potential and it was a tragedy what happened to him...........but, that is the point, greatest anything isn't based on potential it is based on what you did over your career.

Driven multiple racing and street cars on FIA Grade 1 tracks. Flown fighter trainers...pulled 6 Gs positive and 4 Gs negative. Motorcycles in North Africa and the Pyrenees as well as the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona at 17. I've been traveling internationally since I was 14. I'm accurate and factual because it's how I've been trained. Sorry it seems to be a bit different from what you may be accustomed. The devil is in the details.

It's just the feeling I get by the way you write, doesn't mean I know you (clearly I don't). It also wasn't a slam.

But I still think you're wrong. I believe the older cars to be harder to drive, and the older drivers to possess a skill that the newer drivers just don't. We will just have to agree to disagree on those points.

Like I said potential. VET was to and he has four WDCs to back it up. He is also currently the youngest WDC IIRC. So by your/this logic VET is in top three greatest ever right? Where are VERs WDCs?

It's not necessarily all about scores, you can quote championships and wins all you like (there are enough of them on here) but as the people in the Senna vid above say its what the PEOPLE think in the end.

And here comes the excuses. I think if you ask anyone/even VER if he'd rather be the youngest F1 driver to win a race or a WDC......we know what he or anyone would say. And it is unfortunately to late for VER on that one.

But, I do think Senna is one of the greatest of all time and in the conversation for greatest of all time.

Where we disagree is VER isn't even close to that or even a driver like VET for that matter.
