M5 CS forged wheel weight

Anyone measure the factory wheels' weights yet?

Looking for aftermarket options to replace them as I imagine they'll be heavy, just trying to use stock sizes.

I believe these are the same as the M5 Comp forged wheels, just with a different color finish. As I recall, the M5 Comp forged wheels are around 27 lbs. to 28 lbs.

The Dinan forged wheels are 23 lbs. front and 24 lbs. rear based on my measurements. Others have reported the Titan wheels around 1/2 to 1 pound lighter than the Dinan wheels. Both the Dinan and Titan wheels are 1/2" wider front and rear than the BMW wheels.

I have read that there are HRE wheels in the 20 lbs. range, but those were well out of my price range.

Good luck with the new car and wheels.

Thanks sir! I'm going Fi-R 20 in. Trying to do a straight replacement on the stock tires.

Did some "phone photoshop" quickly to see how they would look on the CS in 20in form. I know a lot of guys throw the 21s in there but I would like to keep the weight as low as possible, and if we're losing around 40 lbs of unsprung weight, I figure the car will be just that much more fun to drive, and be able to put more power down, in addition to bolt-ons. This article sticks in my head.

bimmerfest.com/threads/hp-gains-understanding-unsprung-vs-sprung-vs-rotating-vs-static-weight-vs-mass.1264776/

And for real world data, according to this article, the loss of 12 lbs per wheel/tire combo, translated to more power on the dyno. So why not?

Apologies… I'm just a nerd for this stuff. For the people saying "are you tracking? You're not going to notice much street driving, you're spending x $ on shaving 10ths off of X lap time…" ah whatever, I like what I like. 😇

I have been told that the BBS FI-R in size 20" will not fit our F90's and they only have a 21" fitment.

Did you find some that will fit? The only 20's I saw had the wrong bolt pattern.

IND's website only shows the LM wheel for our F90 in 20" and the FI-R in 21" for our F90.

For this reason, I'm looking into Signature or Forgeline wheels. Look very similar to the BBS FI-R.

Guess it just won't fit moving up to the f90 platform? Why wouldn't they give the option. 😞disappointing.

I gave up on 'off the shelf' rims as the sizes / offsets I wanted just weren't there and went custom chinese instead. 6061 Forged with 750kg load rating TUV certificate. Should have them beginning of January. CAD drawing in Bronze below (I went Matte Grey for the final design but for the M5 CS effect see below)

Different bolt pattern between F10 and F90.

Check out Forgeline wheels. Tons of 911 guys use them for track and they have a VX line that looks just like the FI-R. Plus they are made in the USA and light.

Yeah I've been chatting with them. Started talking with their technician so that we can make the same wheel with a few modifications to the offset so I can avoid running spacers and have the wheels closer out to the edge of the car.

From what I've seen a lot of the members here increased the front track by 15mm and 11mm in the rear so asking to make that happen from when they produce the wheel. Keeping the same 20x9.5front /10.5 rear sizes, want to keep the weight down as much as possible, aiming for the GS1R, Motorsport series with the 2100 lb per wheel load rating as I love the look, and plan to maybe hit a few track days in my daily.

Also trying to time it so that I get the wheels around the same time as the car (I'm assuming around March).

Now it's just a matter of color! Any thoughts if anyone cares enough to be paying attention? 🤣
Phone photoshopped these. The FIRST photo is just the actual GS1R wheel, the others are just seeing how the colors look on the car with the frozen green.

I do love the punchiness of the gold but the bronze is also looking like it'll be the most… mean?

Think I love the "tinted transparent gold" being the last photos.
