My '21 M5 comp has arrived! …. NOT!

Was very excited to go and see the car but it came in the wrong colour! It came in Nardo grey and I ordered Grigio Telesto….

What a disappointment.

I can only hope that there won't be big delays with a re-order.

Anyone else have a major SNAFU of any kind happen to them?

Can I expect to be able to negotiate the lease extension on my current '18?

If you have a car on order, they will extend current lease by 6 months.

I did not …. a lesson learnt I suppose. Perhaps an intervention could have been done had I reviewed it during production

My original order was screwed up in a more minor way: the dealer checked the option for a sunroof, which I did not want. I placed another order, but the delivery was held up for about a month by the remote key recall. All told, took about 10 weeks for the first car to arrive, and another 12-13 weeks for the second (correct) car to arrive.

Two other notes: (1) To Greer's point, I did track my M5 on the BMW site prior to delivery, but I didn't notice that the pic of the car had a sunroof (hard to tell in the side profile view). In hindsight, the "shark fin" antenna was body colored, not black, which should have been my clue. (2) The dealer was cool about the mistake and just ended up selling the first car to another buyer. Hopefully that was the case with you as well.

Good luck! Your car will be amazing when it comes, and it'll be worth the wait to have exactly what you want.

Sorry to hear about the issue. That really sucks.

However, if it had been me, I would’ve asked for a discount on the Nardo and taken it. Love that color.

Did your S.A. give you a build sheet to review before locking in your order?

Yes all things on our side were in order. BMW in Germany has since acknowledged the mistake on their end

Re-order in place. Build will start September.

Just more waiting…. sigh
