Remote Software Upgrade 2021 M5

I get the message for the remote software upgrade that says downloaded and ready to install. When does install because it's been like this for a few weeks.

I think when you start your car you should get a message saying install, or when I turn mine off it says after cool down install can begin but I’ve been putting it off for no real reason

I have the same message. I press install and then nothing happens.

Interesting, are you pressing it after driving it or before? I haven’t pressed it yet so I don’t know anything other than I read another member posted it takes an hour for M cars to cool down and then it will install

I press it during and after install. It's annoying how they did this.

Mine did the same thing for 2 or 3 weeks then one morning it was done and half of my coded things were back to stock.

Yup, same here. Kind of pissed me off that it reverted almost all of the stuff I had set back to factory. WTF BMW?

That is annoying, not exactly making me more eager to install it, especially since other members are saying it reverted their settings. I love BMW but you’d think they would be more on top of things like this given just how many personalized settings there are. It’s not as simple as just your seat position and preset radio stations.

Anyways, good luck and please keep me posted if anything changes as I’m going to be in the same boat eventually

So the car was off and when you got in the download was already halfway through? That’s interesting. Can you still drive it while it’s downloading on the background or no?

SW updates almost always revert coded settings regardless of OTA or at the dealer, hence why i always tell my SA not to update it. Pain in the butt to get everything coded the way it was before, plus it usually also means that modules are now locked out from BIMMERCODE app. which is also a pain.
