Help with Remus Exhaust

Hi Guys,

I wanted to purchase a remus axle back rather not a full catback due to my wife driving (she doesn’t want loud noise) and kids. I basically narrowed It down to Remus but when I do more research they have two different type’s available and i’m just confused on what will work for my car. I have a 2021 M5 Comp LCI

I have attached two different links (first link I don’t mind keeping the midpipes in the garage and use them when I solely drive the car) (second link is the axle back only - i can purchase midpipes later when I want) and hopefully with some help i’ll be able to narrow down which one will work for me

Thanks Guys

EC approved is some European thing. If you’re in the US — I assume you’d get the non-EC. You’ll have to go through a reseller anyway and I doubt they’d even list / carry more than the one version.

Remus should use the valves IIRC, so if it were me I would just go full catback. If your wife drives in comfort she’d basically not hear much outside of WOT or if she started driving and gunned it a bit during a cold start.

Can confirm that it uses valves. Even with the full exhaust, when the valves are closed it's pretty quiet

Between the two links — do you know which one is the correct one for me? it also says ones for 2020m5 and older and other days 2021 and newer

I had Remus in my pre-LCI F90. Have you heard it in person? It’s very loud FYI. I have Akra now on my 2022 and that Remus was WAY louder even with valves closed. If you look at the tiny mufflers you will see why it’s loud haha. Just thought I would pass that along.

Both Remus and Akra I've had are full exhaust. The Remus is obviously an excellent choice for the price I was just letting you know its super loud even with valves closed.

in my opinion, REMUS is an excellent daily driver with the valves closed but if you are concerned about it being too loud, the Akrapovic is a safer/milder option.
