Well I just raced a 2018 911 turbo s and won the race from 0-120, so if you looking for the faster car. I'd rather pay 100k over 180k.
Ps, my m5 is tuned Also, ps the tuned m5 can keep up with a supercharged hurcane lambo |

I'm actually in the strange boat of cross shopping an M5cp with a new 992 Carrera 4s. It's so strange that these cars compare but there is nothing else that excites me like the 911 that I'd throw my kiddos in the back of... until I get to the M5.
I Love my f80 but my dad has a 991.1 Turbo and the ride on his turbo is actually a better daily ride than the f80 which while not overly harsh struggles to handle certain surfaces well. |

If you don't need the extra room wait for the M8 to come out soon! That thing looks fantastic!

A supercharged huracan traps over 140mph. I highly doubt an M5 with a tune can run with one///

I know from my experience that a 991.1 Turbo S can not pull on a M5. We pulled from 60-165, and while I had the advantage of slipstream behind him, he couldn't pull away from me. If anything we were neck a neck. I had raced an 997.2 911 Turbo PDK with my ex F06 M6 GC, and I was side by side with the 911. 911 Turbo's are crazy fast from launch and low speeds but rolling they are not that much faster compared to the quicker products from BMW M. |

RaceChip sells both platforms and would not skew the results. Stock 100-200 Turbo was slightly quicker as I have seen personally. 0.1 to 0.15. Both tuned, the M5 is slightly quicker. For me, the delta is a wash stock or tuned. Extremely close. Almost bought a Turbo S over the M5 but saw what my buddies Turbo S was running. I really like the Turbo S. The M5 is more comfortable but if the Turbo S was as fast as the GT2RS, I would trade the M5 for it today. They are too close in acceleration to compromise the comfort. M5 is an overachiever !

The Turbo and Turbo S were similar in 991.1.
991.2 is a whole new ball game and both Turbos are considerably faster. Nevertheless 991.1 Turbo or Turbo S are M5 non Comp fast. M5 Comp is almost on pair with 991.2 Turbo S and is as fast as 991.2 Turbo. The M5 has better gearing ratios and more torque. It may weigh around 300kg more but it is more potent. And I believe the M5 has better aerodynamics. It is a tough race |

Mine are straight. Two (as in more than 1) are nearby. Both 991.2 Turbo S. Also one 991.1 Turbo S. Both series are great rides. Closer in performance than is repp’d.

Same magazine. Same test standards. Sadly, not the same day.
Turbo S is a bad dude. The delta just isn't enough for the tradeoffs vs a M5 "for me". Add a RaceChip to the M5 and it's there. Problem is, I like the Turbo S. Would buy one tomorrow and accept the trade offs IF it was an overachiever. I don't care about road circuit handling as long as my weekender handles good. I don't care about sensory metrics. I want comfort and blunt force trauma acceleration. Plus a dealer network, etc. Porsche needs to put GT2RS power in the Turbo S. Then it would be an overachiever. |
