Congratulations on your order! It sounds like you've been waiting for the perfect M5 for a long time, and now you're finally getting it. I'm sure it will be worth the wait, and you will have a blast driving it.

It sounds like you have been through quite a few cars in the past and you have a great perspective on the value of cars. The M5 is an incredible car and I'm sure you're going to love it.

Today I hit 5,000 miles. Still look forward to driving this car every time.

I've taken 379 trips and burned 294 gallons of gas spent 146 hours in the car.

Only issue so far is the sticker peeling off the front M badge which I will get replaced at the next oil change.

Looks like the computer will want my first oil change around 8,500 miles (really 7,500 since the break-in change doesn't affect the oil service interval). I know so many people think 5k is the right number but I'm not sure. I sent a sample from the first change to Blackstone and will send all subsequent ones in too.

There is no right number. My car notified that I need the service around 7500 miles, so about 6300 miles from break-in service.

On my 2023, I did the 1200 then the Schedule Oil Service Soon warning showed up at 6700 so I did it then. Will just do it every 6700m or so, that should be more than fine

Love the obsessive and tedious record keeping! I believe I remember you mentioning on another thread that you keep very involved spreadsheets with all sorts of data on all of your cars.

Anecdotal data point — my first oil change that the car informed me of was ~5700 IIRC.

Yes I have a real problem. Now I'm working on a spreadsheet with the torque and horsepower at various rpm to compare to the S63 non comp, N63, LSA, LS6, LT4, and even L37 engines.

It is very obvious why various people and reviewers.done notice much difference between the M550, M5, M5C. The difference is only above 4800 and 5700 rpm.

The indicated oil change interval has been slowly dropping. It makes me feel better. My wife's X5 went from 10k to 11 to 12k over the last 3 changes. I'm also the person who change my wife's E90 N54 oil at 16k miles every time for 140k miles since that's what the computer said.

Crossed 10,000 miles today. Still love the car and no issues beyond the badge peel.

838 trips, 291 hours behind the wheel.

Looking forward to mounting my new PS4S tires in a couple months. The AS4s have been doing pretty well but as I get more familiar with the car and push harder their limits become apparent. But you can use them in 35 degree rain.

Love my AS4s on now and will also love switching to my PS4s in a month! Best of both worlds in my opinion! Of course I live in south east and also have a 4x4 if ever really needed so no use for snow tires!
