M5 Exhaust Vs X6 M50i

I have a loaner X6 M50i due to a wheel repair. Has anyone heard the X6 M50i exhaust and how does it compare to the exhaust of the M5 base or competition? I am considering an M5 Competition later this year and would like to know if the sound is similar to this X8 M50i.

None of the non-M (including M550i, etc.) cars sound anything like the M5.

So the M5 is even louder than the X6? I assume you have heard both. If so that is pretty loud, but I must say that I have been near M5s before and do not recall really noticing the exhaust. On the other hand before I had this loaner, I remember hearing a big V8 exhaust and looking across the parking lot and seeing a lady getting into a BMW SUV. It was memorable. This loaner sounds the same. Have not heard that from an M5, but I have to admit I have not been around an M5 other than maybe at a stop light, but again I do not remember hearing anything out of the ordinary. I hope the M5 is on par or better because it is a leading candidate for my next car. Not a big fan of all the cracking and pops, just the big V8 rumble.

I am sure it's just the tuning of the fake noise coming through the speakers. If you turn that off the M5 is quiet as a church mouse from the interior. Outside, there is a sound, I wouldn't call any BMW loud, though.
