Carbahn Stage 3 install

So after consideration of options for a package, I ended up with CarBahn Autoworks Stage 3 install for the MY2018 by my local shop here in Brisbane - 999 Automotive. I'm probably the only one in the country with it - the deciding factor being that it just lets the ECU sort everything out in terms of fuel quality. It should work on AKI 91, 93 (i.e 98 RON) and 100 (plus a bit of ethanol). I'm also someone who buys outcomes, not bits and pieces - so I basically just picked up everything they make other than the built motor and wheels. Also added the Eventuri V2 from Imran@Evolve and the KellerPerformance mid-pipes.

Dyno is a bit soft tbh 353awkw (stock) -> 417awkw.

My old Stage 3, non-built RS3 (APR TTE 700) pulled 404awkw on the same dyno - tho the RS3 was on E85, not BP 98 (US 93). But the car holds 1020nm to 950nm from 1600rpm-> 6800. We've had no end of trouble on the non-linked AWD Dyno, BMW's centre diff just loses its shit, even in Dyno mode. Dyno is a Dyno Dynamics for what its worth.

Car feels *waaaay* stronger - probably closer to 450awkw (comparing against a number of big boy RS3's my shop here in Brisbane does). Looking to hook up with someone and a draggy to get some more definitive numbers. Should be a 6 second 100-200km/h car.

After a bunch of lessons and challenges, we're done for now (although we have BMW OE PS4S Michelin's on the way, errr lighting all 4 up in AWD is wild).

All the most expensive parts. Hopes it performs well. Those load based dynos can give odd results. I’d run on a Dynojet or go to a drag strip or use a dragy to see what it does. Gauge power from the trap speed.

Its an expensive car - outcomes, not objectives

Yeah agree. Car feels strong. Need to get a drum of good fuel (we saw 15kw difference throwing in 10 litres of E85 - so the fuel trim changes are definitely working) and get some 100-200, 60-130 and mph

Now to have fun driving it for a while...

Wow thank you for this write-up and sharing this with the community. I am going full stage 3 with Carbahn, and they will be doing the work come Dec 2022. I am excited!

We would greatly appreciate if you could run some draggy times and even dyno results if possible. I intend to run an E blend about (E30) and was told by Chris at Carbahn the software would be able to adapt to E as well. What are your experiences running E here? Higher gas consumption?

I also have a 2018 M5 and I know that PRE 2020 M5s run hotter oil temp than POST 2020 M5s. Did you see a decrease in your oil temp with the upgrades?

Lastly, I also intended to upgrade my front monoball bushings. I was unsure if I was going to buy Dinan's or CB's. What are your impressions on their bushings. How has it changed your ride?

Any and all feedback is welcomed! Thank you in advance.

Do the early cars run hotter oil temps or just show hotter oil temps on the gauge? What do you see with a scan tool reading actual oil temp versus what you see on the gauge? Others with early cars have reported numbers consistent with what the later cars show on the gauge, and much lower than what shows on the early cars’ gauges.

solid setup! ran a 5.9 sec 60-130 with mine and averaged 6.0 - 6.15, I see you went with their coil over set up, that's next on my list, would love to hear your feedback on it! cheers and good luck
