Anyone have an LCI with STYLE 810M Wheels?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Anyone have any LCI M5 with Style 810M wheel option? Looking for some real pictures as it's hard to appreciate them on the BMW website and no dealers in my vicinity have any M5 in stock with those wheels. Contemplating between those and the 789M wheels for a future order. Thanks in advance!

I believe there is a member here that posted a pic of their new
LCI M5 with those wheels in another thread. I ordered my M5 with the 810M without seeing it in the flesh but photos look nice. I did see it in person on an M8 GC and it looked good but different body style of course.

Amazing! Thanks for the pics. Those 2 pics perfectly show you the bicolor combo of the wheels. It will be a tough decision between these and the 789M style that most have, but I'm definitely leaning towards these after seeing your pics!

Have any of you guys taken the wheels off? Im trying to figure out if these are forged or cast and I can't find a picture of the offsets and writing on the inside of the wheels anywhere... raised lettering means cast and engraved means forged.

That's my car above and this is my 0221/22 F90 Ultimate with the same wheels, not sure if forged or not TBH.

Bmw claims they are, just spoke to a rep, just wanted to make sure. Only way to really tell is the writing on the inside of the spokes, whether it's engraved (forged) or raised lettering (cast) I guess ill see when my car gets here lol

Edit btw you got some good pics of the smoke white? I was debating that but got silverstone eventually since I couldn't find a car to see properly what it looks like. Also how's it holding up to wear and tear?

The only forged wheel from BMW for the M5 is the 789. Everyone has there preference, but when I saw the 789 wheel the choice was obvious. I did see the 810 wheel before I ordered the 789 wheels.

What's the difference in weight?

And, by the way, what do the black 706's weigh?

Here’s mine with 810M wheels, I love the look of them. I don’t understand the fixation with getting a slightly lighter wheel (yes I know unprung weight) but when the car weighs ~4400 lbs, I don’t see the huge benefit. I like the 789 wheels but that’s what most people seem to get and I wanted something different.

I agree with DDD31. I really do not care about the weight of my M5C. I think there are some postings on the weight of the 789 wheels. It is indeed an added benefit that the 789 wheel is a forged wheel.

I weighed my 706 wheels when I replaced them with Dinan forged wheels. The 706s weighed 35.5 lbs front and 36 lbs rear. If the 810 wheels are also cast, I would guess they weight about the same.

I believe (going from memory) that the 789 wheels are around 28 lbs).

By comparison, the Dinan wheels are about 24 lbs front and 25 lbs rear. The Titan wheels are similar and may even be a pound lighter still.

While I was disappointed with the very heavy 706 wheels, they make fine rims to use with my snow tires for when I don't really care about optimal acceleration.

It's not weight it's strength, on my buddy's e55 amg I was driving for a while, I had a set of 19in cls wheels that were forged, smacked a curb hard and blew a tire with a metal rod nicking the outside edge of the rim, rims are still good. His cast 18 in wheels? Every pothole he hits requires a weld. The wheels are more weld than alloy at this point lol

According to their literature, the 810M is also forged. I looked just recently since I'm selling an entire set.

limeypride can you provide a link to this literature? Perhaps htere is other information I would like to find. I cannot find any information outside of the very limited information on the wheels when you build a car on the BMW website.

I wish BMW would make more information on these cars available. I have found bits and pieces here and there, but not a lot from obvious BMW sources. For example, the engine changes that have occurred over the years. There have even been changes made to the engine of the LCI, but the information is not easy to find.

If you have the wheels off the car, look at the inside face of the spokes, are the words and numbers for the offsets and part numbers raised up or engraved in the wheel?

Found it but it's a 3rd party so now I'm questioning it myself.

810M very unlikely forged, usually very obvious from BMW's designs. Available for only 900/1000 a piece too from third parties. Likely 33-35lbs each.
