F90 M5 Frozen Dark Silver
I picked up my F90 M5 on Thursday from Cotswold Cheltenham.
Absolutely love the way the colour has turned out - it really does show off the lines of the car like nothing I've ever seen. The wheels look even better in real life - but I do wonder about them being frozen gold or a two tone with some darker colour as the other tone. M Performance 863M wheels M Performance front splitter (3 parts) M Performance carbon side sills M Performance decals Still to be fitted hopefully next week when they arrive: M Performance side gills in carbon CS rear boot spoiler - I prefer this to the M Performance one. Here are some photos from collection day: Rear really doesn't look right without a boot spoiler (hopefully this week!). Also need to get all that black plastic swapped for carbon or something sometime. What an amazing machine - it feels like the tech has moved on since the F90 I had around launch for a while. Few things initially noticed: Brakes feel very good even when cold. Start stop starts the engine if it notices the car in front move forward. Mat

Please, please get a paint protection wrap ASAP—the factory paint is deemed by most as irreparable. |

Great looking ride! Ordered my Frozen Dark Silver M5C 3.5 months ago and hoping it remains a week 45 build. Very anxious. Appreciate seeing a fairly similar spec. Enjoy!

Car is looking sick! Congrats. I must say all of these frozen paints are slowly making me consider wrapping my car is expel stealth. The lines really stand out.

I have a Frozen Arctic Grey M5 without PPF and all is fine. I've even had parts resprayed and you could never tell the difference... |

This is a relief as I have my frozen bluestone metallic M5C on order. After reading this thread and many others, I felt like I was left with no choice but to wrap it the ENTIRE CAR in PPF for another $7k. I'll probably wrap it in the typical problem areas to reduce the cost. I've just heard so many horror stories about these paints and their inability to repair a ding or scratch. |

A lot of bulshit going on. I'm speaking from experience, I had the car immediately ceramic coated with Gtechniq, back when I got it over 3 years ago. I initially thought that I would be keeping the car for a shot period of time and didn't go with PPF. Finally, I like the car more and I'm thinking to keep it for a long period of time. As nothing can beat PPF, if you are considering keeping the car for a few years, go with PPF. If it's a lease, just don't worry to much but of course avoid going to car-washes tunnel. Frozen paint (whatever the color) makes the lines pop so much more than a regular shiny paint, at least on the F90. Check out the thread about my car in my signature if you want to see how the paint is holding up. |

Looks great! The thought of cleaning those wheels gives me anxiety, but thankfully you have CCBs. Phew!

Can-am cites one experience as though it applies universally—I'm guessing it's an IQ deficiency or she's just a massive dickhead… both probably but I digress. Many folks on the forums cite the same experience and guidance that I have—dig a little and you'll find it. While it is more convenient to believe you don't need it, if that turns out to be incorrect, there's no going back. Wrapping just the forward-facing parts in transparent PPF is a great compromise, though. This time around, I went with a metallic factory color that I liked and wrapped it in Xpel Stealth achieving the frozen look and protecting the paint work for a little more than the cost of the original BMW Individual frozen color options. |
