Good for you....
Feels bad when you have to drive some other car.
Feels worse if you know its parked in the sun somewhere waiting for this part.
waiting for your update with hopefully good news

Absolutely! I was actually getting ready to head up to the dealership and pick up my car when I got the call. The way I saw it was that I'd rather have it in my garage while I waited for the parts as opposed to sitting in their lot for 2 1/2 months collecting bird shit, etc...

I hope that your part comes in soon as well. As of right now they have had my car for 21 days.

Yay!!! She's back. Here are the service notes for anyone that is interested in what they did.

And here is a gratuitous shot of her at the office.

On another note, they were able to get the brakes to stop making noise, but my SA said that it would be back in a 1000 miles or so from their experience. Good thing that my pads from ACG showed up. Now I just need to take it to Eurocharged to get them installed.

That error flashed up twice while i was driving yesterday for the first time.
I guess I’m going to have to go through this whole saga of getting the part now

So far so good on my end. This issue hasn't happened again since they replaced the seat bottom and sensor.

Took the car in monday, told the parts would be there on wednesday, they actually turned up thursday morning and i picked up the car in the evening.
They replaced the seat sensor as you all described. I guess this is so common now they have a stock in the US now.

I did get a loaner as you recommended, a 530e, never driven a hybrid before, the power was, well, there wasn’t any I noticed, but I am spoilt, but it was smooth to drive and as comfy as the M5. switching from electric to gas was seamless, and unlike the M5 you can hardly hear the gas engine when it is running and you can get carpool lane stickers here in CA if you buy a new one.
It oversteers a bit and wallows around the corners, but maybe when I’m 95 and can’t take the Gs from an M any more it would be something I’d consider.

When i did get the M5 back home I treated myself to a cold start in the garage and then go back into the house to listen. That sound makes the house vibrate, very satisfying harmonics.

I dropped off my 2018 M5 base at the dealer for this yesterday...also asking them to look into why my lumbar support and seat massage doesnt work on either the driver's or front passenger's seat.

I bought the car CPO less than two weeks ago...should i have bought that really nice Lexus RCF instead?

Dealer called this afternoon & told me the issue with the lumbar and seat massage is a result of a fuse not properly seated in its' socket...the seat belt malfunction will be resolved by replacing a sensor

all under warranty and the car will be ready tomorrow

Similar but different I got this error today. Read codes and picture shows it. Any thoughts or to the dealership it goes? I have 31,000 miles so I think it's still in warranty.
