I have to admit - I am impressed the C7Z did as well as it did with those tires and a brief spin of the tires. I have to hope that the Vette owner just wanted to see what the car would do with that MPH killing wing on the back lol.

The F90 platform is stout - there is so much in it. AWD and twin turbo and these cars can go as quick and fast as people want to spend.

What is most impressive is the tune and exhaust combo running what it is. Another owner has run 10.24 (it may be the same car actually) - which is starting to be pretty quick - especially for the level of mods.

Summer 2019 is looking good for the F90!

Judging from the videos, those look like some Toyo Proxes R888s or R888Rs to me. Definitely not stock.

They are Toyo's for sure - R888R's.

R888R's are the best tire all round that isn't a true drag radial. Most AWD cars can run up to 900 awhp with good traction when the tires are very new (800 comfortably). Plus they still handle and drive well (but they are noisy - not that you will likely hear them anyway with aftermarket exhaust lol). Crappy with water/rain though.

not very impressive for the Z, i'm trapping 124-125 all day with just rolling up to the line. M5 is definitely doing work!

I hope i run into that f90 next month at the roll racing event. I will be sure to tell the owner of the Z06 that wing looks horrible and is reserved only for the zr1, (albeit, not much better in terms of looks, but i digress)

F90 M5 Comp vs C7Z06

I'm consciously posting this clip here 1) because some folks don't go to the other sub-forums and 2) because this is the actual dragrace as opposed to this same car's best time which was posted elsewhere (yes, this piggyback'd M5 actually went faster than this).

I know we're *used* to the M5 winning (especially here, no bias obviously ) but this says it all: just look at the Vette--an out and out sport's car--and then at the 5-seater 4WD family sedan. To top it all, the M5 didn't *just win* because of its 4WD launch, it literally out-gunned the Vette. BMW!

That wing on the Vette isn't helping, though.

LOL... these big goofy sedans are bonkers. I love it. Cars this size with seats that massage and cool your butt have no business performing like they do. Its crazy.

That vette looks sweet btw. Cool car even if it got beat by a family box.

People go to the subforum--- it was already posted and some Z06 owners have chimed in. Plus there are other Z06 races there. Here is the link for those who care:

vtknight is a Z06 expert at the strip and can chime in here too

I didn't... until recently so my guess is some do, some don't. I haven't asked them all so I'll use me as an example.

Something vexes thee, Vic?

Agreed, this is the prettiest Vette ever (except perhaps for that wing).

That doesn't actually affect the time; the timer only starts when the car breaks the laser-detector. Many folks that do this a lot simply wait for the other car to go to ensure they focus on getting the launch just right. Launching side-by-side is purely for props and adrenalin... and it works .

Yes I’m aware of how it works. I live in the South. Used to race myself (road courses).
