Pre LCI suspension advice

Hi everyone - just picked up my 2018 M5 with low miles. Absolutely love the car, however the suspension seems a little harsh for the little one in the car seat in the back.

I have read several threads over the last couple of weeks on this forum about KW's and m550 springs, but at this point really not sure what I'm reading is answering my question. A lot of those threads talk about the drop, not the comfort.

Any suggestions on what I can do to soften the ride a little bit? There seems to be a lot of debate around the KW's being more harsh than the standard suspension?

And no, I'm not selling the M5 to go to an m550, so thanks for sparing that advice.

Thanks everyone!

I had both KW and HR 550's on a 2019 M5C.

The HR's were less firm and worked very well at softening up some the harshness that was present with early M5C's.

Your car is a base M5 so not sure how the HR's would compare to the OEM springs.

I would not install stiffer springs looking for a better ride. Try lowering tire pressure to a comfort setting that is a few psi less than the standard setting. Or go to 19” wheels assuming you don’t already have them. You get more sidewall on the tire and that provides more cushioning.

I would recommend you KW HAS for more comfortable ride quality.
Yes, it cost more, but guaranteed that you'll be happy.

You think the KW HAS is softer than base M5 springs?

IIRC, compared to base, slightly comfortable.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

So does anyone have KW HAS suspension and verify it's a more comfortable ride than base M5 suspension?

So KW HAS will lower a base and make it more comfortable? If that's the case I think I should do it. But I am just curious why it can be lowered and more comfortable. Or how would this setup compare with a LCI Comp

Well, generally, Comp shock programming is more aggressive than Base.
Lowering while comfortable is because of different spring rate and design than factory spring.
