Brake warranty

I have the ultimate+ for service to include brake service. I've taken my car to two track days (Summit Main and Shenandoah) and my rear brakes look shot, and rotors seen better days.

What's the parameters for getting this service done?

Define shot? Is the sensor tripped? Have you measured the rotor thickness? If it's at min or the pad sensor is tripped they should replace.

Hopefully BMW does not try to assert a “no track use” exclusion to the warranty.

I agree with the question as to what “look shot” means. Normally rears do a smaller percentage of braking than the fronts but if you left traction control or MDM on then the rears could have been asked to do more than usual particularly on the track.

Not quite there I would think. But the passenger side has the sensor. You can look there and see how close it is compared to the pad thicknesss.

No. Why so worried? Just take it in and ask. Or wait for the light to come on then schedule the appt. It's not like you're gonna break through. I know they look low but you're not in danger of running out or anything.

Maybe he has another track day planned and does not want to go with pads anywhere close to the limit.

Lol then go to the dealer. Or buy track pads for your track days. which would benefit you anyway. Sorry asking us a lot of questions your SA could more intelligently answer.

Below 4mm. If the pad sensor is not cut, they won't do pads.

So if you told bmw you had a track day next week but you had 5mm pad today, bmw would say good luck? If so, I recommend you spend the money to support the track day bmw never agreed to pay for.

Other than the endless MX pads (front only) I don't think there are any track suitable pads for this car other than the OEM's. The OEM's are pretty good. OP, look into getting the Euro pads that BMW had pagid make for the ring taxi shipped over. Just do a search on here. I think the part number can be gotten. It's expensive but oh so worth it or it should be.
