I already tried two other M5s (2018 nonComp and 2019 Comp) in my city and all are doing the same ... you feel slight oscilation or tickling mainly through the steering wheel and slightly from the floor, seats and foot rest ... when in indle and even when riding ... when riding it turns more into moderate vibrations in high speeds... It is still present even when: 1) switching to neutral 2) switching to Rear wheel drive 3) in all ride settings (comfort, sport, sport plus) 4) lane assist off/on 5) other alingments (geometry) was done and everything is ok Interesting fact is when I rev all the cars to 1500-2000 rpm when in neutral, the tickling/oscilating from steering wheel is present and you start to feel moderate vibration from the floor and seats as well ... I already visited 2 dealerships, read hundreds of posts here about m5 and other bmws (even m5 f10 having issues with bent rods and x3 having problems with rear axle shafts resulting in vibrations) but had no luck with this I doing some more investigation and will probably start new topic about it once I will have more results ... but in the meantime can some of you sit in your m5s and really check if you are experiencing the same? Maybe we could start a PUMA case with this if there will be enough of us ... Thanks |

If it happens even when not in motion I was thinking engine mounts or something similar as well. Will be interesting to learn the culprit.

This is yet another reason why I do perf delivery. My assumption being these oversights are far less likely when the car is prepped for delivery at the performance center rather than a dealership.

Another week, another "they left the shipping blocks in" thread. the dealerships should know better and this is the result of nothing more than laziness by the dealership.

Brutal, same thing happened to me with a brand new 2015 Porsche C4S. It also became the most unreliable car I have ever owned. It was towed four times in the first year. Negotiated a buy back with the dealer and Porsche.

Dealers said they checked the car and found nothing and that it is quite difficult to guess what could be the reason ... solution was to go and start to try changing part by part .. there is also no PUMA case for this so far I bought the car in Italy (brand new) so I would have to go there and leave car there because 2 year EU warranty is gone and now what is left is just 4year Italian warranty ... that is why I borrowed other M5s to try if the "oscillation" only affects my car ... but as you can see now, I found this issue in every M5 f90 I´ve driven. So i guess it is just a bug of this m5 generation that would be difficult to get rid of I will probably try to buy some NVH (noise vibration harshness) app to find out something more (if the vibration is coming from engine, driveshaft, wheels or what) .. but it cost 500 bugs |

Unbelievable. My 2021 has 2 blue shipping blocks in the front (I assume total of 4). Are there any in the back of the car? I can’t see any in the rear after jacking the rear up.
Also, will these come out easily? Or now bc they are banged up will be difficult to remove? I don’t really want to deal w going to the dealership. FS Last edited by fullsmoke; 04-01-2021 at 01:04 PM.. |

Just picked up my new 2022 yesterday from the dealer. I think we have another case of shipping blocks??? My left rear sits 0.5in lower than my right rear? I was wondering why the wheel gap looked higher than my 2019 M5 Comp. Is there any reason they should be different heights?
I think I see a shipping block on the right rear side, the left does not have that little white piece. Can someone confirm since I don't have expertise with this? Last edited by mpower3330; 07-10-2022 at 10:36 AM.. |
