Thanks - shouldn't it be the opposite? I have 32 front and 34 rear.

Small sample size, just back from the dealer, but the car feels 1000 times better! It feels, well, a lot like my M3 did (but with mo power) and not like jarring hell ride it was. I can even tell the slight difference in the angle of the hood, as I kept noticing the hood shape in a way I didn't before. I am so relieved. I really was worried that I blew $120k+ on a car I hated. Can't wait to take it out on a longer drive.

That is great! Did they find any issues cause by this (alignment etc.)? Did you decide if you will pursue anything else about this considering the problematic months?

Small adjustments needed on the alignment. We are working on some remuneration for the months of annoyance, which I think will be acceptable (but would have rather just had a car I didn't hate).

Glad you guys had it solved.
I would send those pictures to BMW Customer relations.

Have thought about sending these to BMW but what would it accomplish except possibly creating a bad relationship with dealer? Wouldn't it be better to just complain to the dealer and see what happens?

On the other hand I am worried about permanent damage since I still get a bit of vibration after removing them but have an appointment for alignment and full check next week.

I personally would.
It won't create a bad relationship with your dealer.
I did once gave bad review to my dealer's service department because they don't want to listen to my complaint and report it to Customer Relation of BMWNA.
Right away they became a good friend of mine and willing to listen.

Any broken pieces of that plastic shipping block can damage your bump stop and/or putting a lot of stresses on suspensions bushing since it has to compensate the spring / shock job.

My dealer is contacting BMWNA with me. I just want to hear from the mothership that they don't think there is any lasting damage.

Are you doing a conf. call or emailing?

Personally I emailed the dealer I bought the car from (they are about 90 miles away and have another dealer much closer that I have a good relationship with their service department) with what happened, pictures, and that I have an appointment with a different dealer next week to check everything and see what needs to happen next.

Problem is I still have vibrations after driving the car more so something must have happened with these on. Possibly the car bottoming down a few times must have stressed something.

I think your approach to start w/ the dealer to make a determination of what's still going on is a good first step. If you're unable to have the issue properly resolved you still have recourse to BMW NA. Documenting everything well is a critical piece should this matter not go your way.

Good Luck!

I'm picking mine up tomorrow. Thanks to this forum I've pre-alerted my CA to this issue and he says he'll alert the service foreman. Thanks for your time posting here, OP.

Thank you - the bushings maybe the reason for what I am experiencing. Wouldn't affected bushings make you feel everything resonating on the road, the engine and lots of noise on the steering wheel and foot rest even when stopped? As I accelerate it turns into more of vibration that is felt even more when turning the steering wheel minimally. While driving even touching barely the steering wheel feels like a subtle oscillator.

I don't think I had these the first couple of hundred miles but they seem to intensified as miles progressed with the shipping spacers.

I remember replying to you a few weeks ago in another thread about the possibility that your shipping blocks might still be in place when you mentioned a really stiff suspension in your car. I'm glad it all worked out. I hope your dealer does give you some sort of compensation.

Seems like wheels balancing or alignment could be off.

So things don't get any better in BMW dealerships. Have the same issue with my M5 2020 picked up a week ago. I'm super disappointed because I intentionally picked non competition version to keep as much comfort as possible. Tomorrow I will get rid of this shi*t from my suspension.

Thanks guys for sharing this info, otherwise M5 is out of this world!

I 2nd that! Definitely send to BMWNA, Customer Relations and anyone else who will listen.

Maybe they can send out a PSA - dealers make sure you remove the shipping blocks- dummies LOL

Sorry for your trouble.. That really sucks, all that time etc
