LCI F90 Screen Protector For Touch Screen

I've been doing some research for a screen protector for the touch screen.

This is what I've found so far. It's doesn't specifically list the F90, but it's listed for 12.3 inch screens, and lists every 5 series as compatible, including the M550.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/23409009245...SABEgK1Q_D_BwE

Has anyone gone with a screen protector for the touch screen? Which one did you use? Would love to know anyone's thoughts and opinions.

I thought about looking into that but then I realized…what am I really doing or what could I really do that awfully bad to damage it. It sits high up and far enough where I realized I probably won't scratch or gouge it with a watch, phone etc so I'm personally not convinced I needed one. Plus I've had cars with touchscreens for about a de are and not one ever gad any scratches or damage.

That's a great point! It's not in "dangerous" location, and I've also never damaged a touchscreen. However, I'm doing it more for fingerprints than anything else. My pre-LCI had the dark carbon structure, but my new car has Individual Piano Black Trim. I went this route because my carbon scratched so easily. The amount of fingerprints the piano black holds however are insane. Overnight, the surface area in the car that holds fingerprints increased exponentially. This is my attempt to have one less surface that holds fingerprints. I'm usually never the type to do this, but I actually haven't removed the plastic film cover on the screen that comes from the factory. It holds not one fingerprint. Looks cheesy though, and will certainly start to peel soon. So I am looking for a more permanent solution.

find one and then put ceramic halo ceramic coating on it and it'll make cleaning the fingerprints a dream in comparison.

Also would have the piano black interior PPF for that exactly issue! haha, so beautiful but so easily ruined. especially around the gear selector.

Ended up ordering the eBay one. That's a great idea, I'm definitely going to have it ceramic coated. Thank you.

I've also been exploring some solution for the trim. I contemplated PPF, but the other jobs I've seen done going that route look so obvious. I might ceramic coat that, too!

Never even though about ceramic as an option - and applying it won't degrade the screen or damage it - like lowering touch sensitivity, etc.? Thanks!

I ran with the shipping plastic for 3 years.

I've switched to this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0793NGLLB/

NO issues on sensitivity - perfect Fit. I'm on the hunt for matte version.

LOL, there you go!

Thank you so much for this! I will definitely check this out.

EDIT — Looks like they do not make it for the larger LCI screen.

For anyone interested in this, I went with the eBay one above. It arrived incredibly well packaged in a rigid framed box and including everything needed for installation.

Easy install, self absorbing, no bubbles. Highly recommended as it does not hold any fingerprints and that was the problem I was trying to alleviate.

Responses always help people in the future looking to solve a problem we've already solved!

Looks like a great solution, but seems as if this for pre-LCI models for anyone that maybe be looking for that application.

i wouldnt put ceramic coating on the touch screen itself. I was saying i would put it on the screen protector.

and no it should matter even if you did. Most touch screens use temperature/pressure sensors which is why putting a plate of glass over them (phones etc.) don't affect the touch screen ability.

Agreed, and I realize you meant application to the screen protector. This is the route I would have gone if needed, but fortunately the screen protector itself did the trick. I am very happy with how it came out!
