Suspension upgrade and warranty

Hello,

Quick question, would this kit void my new car warranty?

https://ind-distribution.com/collect...5-coilover-kit

Thank you!

If it’s a BMW original part, why not buy it from your local dealer? It will probably not void your warranty, given that it is installed correctly.

I’d prefer buying it from BMW and ask them though.😀

Can get it cheaper from one of the dealer websites. I got mine from BMWPartsPros.com which is actually a BMW dealer in CA.

I know if you get it from a dealer it comes with a BMW warranty for the part so that’s the way to go. As for your car’s warranty, it’s not impacted unless you go to file a claim that resulted from improper installation of the part. That’s how I understand it anyway.

Also the coilovers are cool glad I got them.

No oem/M Performance part will void your warranty. But I would buy through wholesale dealer so that if you have issues they warranty the product and will provide maintenance on it.

Same thing as the lci tail light kits. One tail light stopped working properly and because I bought from dealer (installed myself) my dealer replaced it no questions asked.

BMW dealer quoted me $2,200 for the part and $4,000 for install, with alignment $350. Total, $6,500. Is this reasonable?

word is that the install is like 9-11 hours, so take that from what you will.

Wow, they are charging you about 20hours of labor? For 4-5 hours work?
Are they using only pliers to remove nuts and bolts?

Thank you all, I’ll be shopping it then. Labor seemed around $2k excessive but helpful to validate.
