Agree with you, huge amount off cooler is blocked.
Not a good idea specially in hot climates!!!!

Will just stick with BMC filters and charcoal filter deletes just like I did on my M4. Stock air box in both cars are very good!

To each their own guys, wish them best of luck and I hope everyone who purchases them is happy. Please share feedback after running them for a while so we can all get better educated on these products (best way to learn is to test). I'm going to say this though, they did try to copy MSR.

Agreed, more honest opinions of people running the product will be helpful to the community.

Also, if you look at MSR F10 intakes (they don't produce one for F90 at this time), the only similarity whatsoever is that the filters are mounted behind the grilles, and they weren't the ones to come up with that. MSR makes really nice stuff, but it's a completely different material and design:

I have to correct you, MSR has had their F90 intakes for a while now. I am running them in my car as we speak and they're incredible both in looks and performance.

MSR test their products for a while before they bring to market, they don't just make a product and sell it. They've been running their intake design for over a year on their personal F90 M5 with over 15,000 miles.

In that case, I am mistaken - I looked around and didn't see MSR F90 intakes referenced, reviewed or marketed anywhere.

Air filters aren't going to let enough water through to do any damage, you just don't spray the filters directly when washing, common sense. Re-oiling, not sure offhand bud I will have to check on that.
Good to know.

I still think some water will get sucked in though with that kind of a design.
Especially when it rain.
I ran MSR for two years on my F10 and several friends have them as well on several
Platforms. Rain has never been an issue nor washing the car. MSR does use a different filter to avoid that issue. They also offer the sock for those concerned. I personally never used to sock.

Initially I was skeptical too. A few times after driving in heavy rain or washing I pulled the grill off, filter, and checked for water in the tubing. None.

Those concerned with radiator cooling, never was an issue. On cars with NV the intakes extended further similar to these and no issues at all. If you look at my signature, you'll see i was nicely modded. Car ran amazing.

Just wanted to report on initial impressions with Project Gamma intakes. They are local to me here in Houston, so I went and met with Sam, the owner, and had them installed last week.

The reason I went with Project Gamma is because it’s in the sweet spot on the quality and price curve. I have no interest in a $2,000++ carbon intake because, come on, that’s ridiculous for something that lives under your hood. I waited for awhile for BMS to release their F90 intake, and when I saw that it was just short-ram intakes with cone filters located in our extremely hot engine bay, I passed, even at the low price point.

I ran ARM intake on my previous stage 2 F10 550i, very similar design, and in the Houston summer, I was suffering 150-160 degree IAT and the engine was knocking, pulling timing and boost. I relocated the filters behind the grilles with extension tubing and dropped IATs significantly, and had no issues after that.

Our engine bays are HOT and I do not want the filter in there. Also just to add, I am not dogging BMS, they do awesome work for our community, I have run their intakes and JB4 on several cars. Just explaining the experience that is driving my choice on intakes for the platform.

So, about the Project Gamma intake, it is a continuous piece of heavy-duty 3.5” silicone piping routing from the intake manifold, to behind the front grille, where cone filters are then mounted. Being that it is a single, flexible piece of silicone with smooth bends gives it four advantages in a mechanical sense:
A.) smoothest possible airflow
B.) lack of heatsoak (unlike thin aluminum tubing of F10 ARM intake)
C.) easy installation
D.) air filters mounted in the coolest possible place

The price point is pretty reasonable, it comes in matching colors with no additional charge, butt dyno says small gain in the midrange, and turbo sound is much more pronounced. It’s about a 30 minute install and looks and sounds great. The owner is a good dude I’m happy to support, and also mentioned that they will be developing upper and lower downpipes in the near future.

Overall I am very happy with this product and I would recommend it.

I paid full price for the product and have not received any compensation or discount for the review.

Cheers,
Ian

Very sexy! Love the color matching. One of my favorite colors.

$850 for these are a steal if quality, fitment, and performance is there. Nice they are local too.

George i wish you where honest about your deal and would not left feedback s with lies. you bought a used set, you where pissed about the price not product and requested multiple times paypal refunds. ill attach a screenshot of everything here. i have more then 100+ customer running my intakes and i have done my best to deal with every single problem individually, including you. i offered you full refund including shipping cost. but you still haven't send it back and still trying to get partial refund. i am trying my best to create a brand, and you are separating false information. ps these filterst are made by knn.

LMAOOO

look at this verbal pollution in my thread compared to the truth of what actually happened.

Vendor: "I have only have one used set, it will be $850 shipped."
Vendor: *supplies pictures of the actual product*
Customer: "OK, I'll take it"
Customer: *receives literally the exact thing they agreed to buy*
Customer: *freaks out and slanders vendor on forums*

Dude, customers like you are why people burn out of retail sales. 1 in 100 or so people are just incredibly entitled jerks. You made a deal, you paid for the product, you received the product exactly as described.

Then you didn't like the thing you agreed to buy because you were butthurt the vendor lowered the price at a later time, and the vendor offered to refund you in full, plus shipping. You never installed the product at all, apparently.

Instead you're trying to get a 50% refund and keep the product, while slandering the vendor on the forums. Seriously bro? Like, seriously??

I stand by my original review as a happy, full-price paying customer. I have been running these for 500 miles and they sound and look great.

Absolutely hilarious that the truth came out. Do some soul-searching man, maybe figure out why you can't execute a simple business transaction on standard terms without feeling like you've been horribly wronged and lashing out. Not healthy.

Lol just because you were begging to shill for $100 doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t have character.

Believe it or not, happy customers write good reviews. It’s all in writing, nothing you have said here is true. Good luck in life I hope you find the path forward one day

I guess you did not read the same text exchange we just did. Pretty clear cut if you ask me. You were ready to sell the shit out of it for 100$ without having installed the damn thing. My opinion...let it go and hope it goes away.

nothing against the brand but, unlike msr our set doesn't require to ditch 2 crash support bars and 2 radiator support bars, and is made of silicone with bigger diameter. not sure what makes you think that is a copy.
