Still torn between this in a 2019 with not quite the same specs but potentially a deeper discount.

Is that car on the lot, or to be an ordered build?

Signed the deal and picked up my first M car today!!! I definitely recommend BMW of Sarasota!! My car was the General Sales manager's demo with only 1300 miles. I was able to get 15% off of MSRP ($121,195 discounted to $102,931) before incentives.

It's deals like this that make me want to scrap my order and find a cheap 2019 even if it's not exactly what I was looking for.

Yeah, BSM would not have been my first choice, but I could not pass up the deal. I was originally not a fan of the Aragon Brown interior, but I LOVE it!! Reminds me of the Burnt Orange interior on my old 350z!

How do you find a demo car with mileage ? I saw this car on cars.com advertised as new.

I didn’t initially know that it was a Demo when I found it. I ran a CarGurus search, sorting by days on CarGurus. I then sent the General Sales Manager an email asking why it’s been in their inventory for 300+ days. He said that it was a special order vehicle for one of their good customers, who was unable to move forward with the purchase, and that he was using it as his personal demo.

Just curious given the mileage limits on leases.
Drove it back from Chicago to nyc. Was great little trip. Also by the time got home, almost time for the break in service.

I picked up an RS7 Perf in NYC and drove it back to Redmond--not doing that again. As fun as it is, there's such a thing as too far and that qualified. TX to Redmond was the journey for my current car--loved every minute of it.

Do the 2020... You'll always ponder what life would've been like with option X... You'll most likely love the car so much you won't ponder what nice dinners you could've had saving a little bit a month...

Signed!

Missed out on a previous deal (didn’t act fast enough)
But was able to get another dealership to do the same % of discount!
New 2019 Comp MSRP 145,000
Final negotiated price - rebate (lease credit + loyalty) :123,728
Monthly incl Seattle’s 10.1% sales tax (yea i know..):1,480.00
Due at signing: 2000 (first month + doc fee)

It’s a car that’s way higher spec than I’d like.. But in the end pricing seems to justify and won’t let this one go again lol

That's a good deal for that msrp. What's it got other than CC brakes I assume pushing the price up?

Basically all the pricy options like B&W speaker/ CCB, and individual frozen paint. They quoted me 1,450 a month in CA taxes and fees before knowing Seattle’s 10.1% tax, an additional 0.8% Tax based on the car’s base MSRP, plus rest of the tab fees..

Thank you guys, appreciate the kind words. I worked hard. Searched online for a couple days. Called multiple dealerships across the country. Negotiated with many of them, and finally found the right deal! Took some time and effort, but absolutely worth it in the end.

That's likely what is going to happen. It comes with a bunch of carbon fiber add-ons, B&W as well as night vision (which is hard to find in a car on a lot). I have a lot of deer around me and do a lot of Highway driving (not to mention It's good for finding police hiding on the side of the road at night).

Maybe residual values on 2020s go up a little more in January? Car is still likely 3 weeks away

Fingers crossed for you on the lower residuals but I wouldn't hold my breath as it's too soon...

Just going off of what you said, don't have regrets, just get the car that you wanted in the first place, or rather the specific options...

Good luck !!! And congrats regardless which way you go, lol

I looked up the sales tax rules on car leases in South Carolina.
It's the same as car purchases.

The tax rate is 5% on the total purchase price (in case of buying) or on the total of the lease payments (if leasing), or $300 whichever is lowest.

So there is a hard cap at $300 total sales tax on any car purchase or lease over 90 days in SC.

On a lease, I believe this means they add 5% to your lease payments for the first few months until the amount of cumulative tax paid hits $300, and then the payments are untaxed after that.
