Best tire for drag racing? R888r vs ..

I know few members running r888r 285/35/r20 but ive heard they are quite loud for daily driving and was wondering do we have any other options besides toyos. Can we get some ppl running these on their f90 m5 debunk or confirm this??

Quick search and only tire i found that might benefit 60ft time besides r888r is nt05 (non r) they make them in 275/35/20 (nittos run wider so i suppose it should offer enough contact patch for improved 60ft compare to ps4s or shitty p zeros)

nt05 is also much cheaper with more thread life nt05 $230 vs r888r $325 (best deals i found)

any other tire that might be beneficial that i missed ?

thank you

Ran R888r's for the track for my last set of tires.

VERY VERY loud. Can't say how they'd do in drag racing. They were very grippy on the road course, but they made such a loud whine that Randy Pobst actually came to me and suggested that my differential must be broken. They could hear them from the paddock.

Yep. Ran them on my w213 e63s. Great tires for sure....track or street, but they are loud. I would say they are better suited for more performance oriented cars, or drop them onto some racetrack only rims, for use there. Yeah, you'll corner better and pick up some 60ft time, but you will absolutely sacrifice some of the amazing dd capability of the f90 m5. I ran them as a daily tire, but would not do it again on this type of car (uber sedan).

With the F90 being AWD unless you’re making over 750whp I don’t think you’re gonna have traction issues with a soft compound non drag racing r compound tire. Sport cup 2’s Advan A052, Bridgestone RE71, etc. in a 285/295 setup should keep the power to the pavement.
