1/4 Mile - 2019 M5C

Hey guys, I recently ran a 11.2 SEC quarter mile just under 124 MPH. Other than cosmetic upgrades, my M5C is full stock.

Those of you who have a stock engines, have you ran a faster time? Trying to gauge if this is on the slow end or average.

I think the car can break the 11sec for sure. I live in Central Florida so I plan on going again next time we get a cold front so the turbos get a nice intake of cold air.

I can't upload the video here, but if you want to check it out, I've posted on Insta @Frozen.F90M5

No idea. I'm more focused on the best possible time than stock... without fundamentally rebuilding things that is.

For me, HockeyTyme sits atop the list of jaw-dropping numbers with reasonable mods.

yeah it is disappointing that they made major oiling and piston changes to the engine but left the rods the same as F10. would be a stout engine otherwise. 750whp safely out of a V8 isn't all that impressive now-a-days.

Perhaps. But I'm not shooting for world records and being able to attain that level of whp—and the resulting performance to prove it out—with a $900 piggy (that's effectively free for this car since I moved it over from my old one) sure qualifies as impressive to me as well as more than enough in 99% of road, road course and dragstrip scenarios. I'm happy. But yeah, if there was more to be tapped, I'd want it.

not arguing that basic bolt on gains are good. i think that is obvious. usually i'm never concerned about tune/downpipe combo sending the rods out of the block.... but on this car i am. that's why i would like to get it on par with others in the low/mid 10 range, but definitely not going for any sort of records.

What's crazy is that even at low 11 seconds for me (tens for most of you), that's supercar numbers. Mind you stock engine too! Faster than some Porsche, Ferrari and GTR!

You can easily get mid 10's with just a piggy or stage 1 tune

BM3 isn't available yet for the F90. It's probably one of if not the best tune options when it comes out but I have been hearing "soon" for 6 months :P

I have a BM3 closed beta M5 license.

I had BM3 on my F80 M3 Comp and I liked the platform a lot.

I like what works (includes not breaking stuff).

What is the underlying tune with the BM3 solution? I think my understanding is correct that it's a wrapper for booting into different tunes?

Regardless, you should be low to mid 10s with it. I am with JB4 only and hockeytyme is scraping at the high 9s.

I feel the same way. I'm seriously considering dropping 20k-30k into a forged engine build just so I don't have to worry about bending rods anymore. I'd rather rip the bandaid off than worry about it every time I drive.

I don't know how that makes any sense, if you're trying to go for over 750-800whp just do it and if your engine dies, then rebuild it.
