Thanks mate I did not know that so only deleting the first 2 cats triggers CEL and the secondaries do not? Interesting, the only reason I was going to go with primary DPs as well is because I do plan on tuning down the road so I'd rather just install both at once rather than doing it again down the road however I'm not sure if installing the primary DPs on this car requires removing the secondary DPs, if not then I would happily just do secondaries for now. Seems to me the primaries can be done through the engine bay w/o having to get the car on a hoist but I could be wrong.

Ya only the primary (top ones) have o2 sensors. The bottom ones don’t so no have to worry about a light. I’m glad I went only secondary because it is on the verge of being too loud for me with my awe exhaust. Imo it’s perfect how I have it.

If youre gonna tune down the road then do both and live with the light for a little bit

I'm curious how much catted has helped the smell. Do you get as much of the smell with windows down as someone who has non catted uppers or have you not been in both to compare?

had to modify the turbo heat shield slightly to fit ( made a bend in the shield to fit) but overall seamless install.
Did you go with the 45 degree fitting or the 90 degree fitting for the fabspeed mini cats? I'm about to do the same.

Primary can be done from the top alone.

Catted will help the smell. Even the 50cells that I have, reduces the smell tremendously.

Yes there are 2 options available, I noticed you said you had to modify the heat shield for proper fitment. I wonder if you have the 45° one which would make it stick out more. Perhaps with the 90° it would sit more flush and not require modding the heat shield, not 100% sure though as I don't have the mini cat in hand yet to play with.

After further testing, it doesn't work unfortunately.

Ben - any comments on these? http://www.bigdaddiesgarage.com/mini-cat-cel-fix.html

Do they really work for the F90?

It doesn't on S63tu. Tested it.

And Big Daddie has no guarantee. I asked 10 years ago and decided not to waste my money. I think Fabspeed might be better but at several times the price, I did not experiment. The newer ECU are too smart to be fooled by older tech simulators but I would think a correctly done mini cat 02 would work. The FI high flow 200 cell cat downpipe has an internal mini cat that apparently works in combination with the high flow cat.

If you don’t get it just right, there could be negative consequences. I have read from a few sources that the secondary 02 gives feedback to the primary 02 - if it alters the primary adaptation as a result that might not be good.

I have no idea how but it worked on my car though.
Their opf simulator worked the first month too but then the the car would go in limp mode when giving full throttle.
But apparently that could be sorted out by resetting the opf to new with Ista+ but i got a tune instead and now it’s fine.
