Can't decide.

Hello Everyone,

I'm conflicted between these cars at the moment

-New RS6 Avant
-Panamera GTS/Turbo Sport Turismo or Sedan
-M5 Comp
-E63S

I've driven the E63S and Panamera. Frankly BMW hasn't been impressing me, but I hate to step away from such a good brand that I've been with since my first car in highschool a few years ago. I'm a young guy with no family. I'm looking at this segment because I like the style of car. The new RS6 has impressed me a ton. Just want everyone's thoughts.

Thanks!

I'd do the M5CP or the RS6 Avant. Love the RS6 styling. Might be my next car after the M5CP depending on how it drives. The Panamera was underwhelming to me and the AMG has very harsh suspension. Sounds great though.

I really think audi has blown every other competitor out of the water. I feel BMW has lost its image as a brand. They moved to this chic feminine styling and dont listen to what the customers want (m3 wagon for instance) and kinda have just ruined the look of 90% of there cars.

"IF" the Audi RS6 drives as well as it looks, then go Audi if that's what you really want. Personally, I'm still waiting for Audi to excite me when I drive them. I went with the M5C because it gave me a little tingle when I drove it, enough to get me to order one. Panamera is seems way overpriced for what you get, and you'll get smoked by an M5C all day long. If I'm spending $150-175k on a Porsche, it's going to be a 991 GT3 or better.

RS6 never drives as good as it looks, I think it's just Audi's philosophy to have a front heavy car.

Panamera Turismo also looks pretty good though the performance is not as good as the M5C either.

The problem with E63S and M5C is they don't look as standout, which does matter to some people. A friend of mine is looking at buying GT63 S because nobody is going to mistaken it as a E or S class.

Ah yes - the Avant. I loves me some station wagon! Back in the day, Chevy had a wagon that had a seat that faced rearward at the very back. I always felt like a B-17 tail gunner back there.

The big difference in my opinion between the E63 and the M5 is the ride quality. I needed a daily driver, so I wanted a more plush ride quality. The 63 is pretty harsh IMO relative to the M5.

RS6 Avant is a sexy car, but being single with no family - why? It would be a nice daily driver for the wife IMHO.

E63S is a solid choice, but I don't like the styling as much (or the wheels - I know can be easily swapped).

I dig the Panamera Turbo S, but can't justify the price. The GTS or lower variations are expensive for the performance.

I'd rather have a BMW M5/C and a sports car for the price. My 2 cents.

I'm in a similar situation: trying to choose among the M5C, an E63S wagon, and a Panamera (Turbo or GTS).

I really liked the E63S, in terms of its exterior styling, its exhaust note, interior design (particularly the carbon fiber trim), and the wagon form factor. I didn't notice that its suspension was particularly harsh during my test drive, though (i) other knowledgeable members of this board who have actually owned this vehicle (Vic55) have pointed this out as a significant shortcoming and (ii) I only drove the E63S on city roads and freeways that were well-paved.

Until you actually own one and have to live with it every day. We've owned six Audi's and every one of them was a compromise, flawed in one or more areas, and a couple were of suspect build quality. Couldn't take it anymore. We have a Q7 at the moment that I debate throwing some gasoline and a match into almost every day.

That said, I'm not a fan of any BMW vehicle right now except the M5, which I think has just enough E39 in its styling to look good. Other than that, I haven't been interested in a single BMW since pre-Bangle days.

OP, if you don't like the M5, I'd be looking at a Panamera Turbo, assuming you like the look of it, which I don't.

If you just graduated high school and don't have kids then take a look at a 991.2 or 992 Porsche.

You will have to have a sedan or wagon someday. Enjoy the small car experience while you can.

nailed it. i have a 911 tts and its just a pleasure; you get all the lux bells and whistles too

also - i'm sick of the front end dip audi is known for; i think its a fundamental flaw in their construction...engine place too far forward relative to the front axle. my s6 does it and my s5 before did it as well.

audi get style points though, inside and out

I went from M5 to 991 TTS and the car is a blast but I have kids etc and miss the room of a sedan.

If was younger and kidless I wouldn't even consider a large sedan no matter how fast it was.
