1200 Mile Service Cost

Can anyone shed any light on the cost for the 1200 mile service, I am taking the M5C to Germany in November and have arranged the running in service for a few days prior and they have quoted me over £650....does that seem reasonable compared to what you've paid.

Include the USA as well as I'd be interested to see if there are any geographical variations

Interestingly, the dealer said that as I am crossing the 1200 mile mark whilst in Germany the "running in check" would have to be done prior or risk warranty...so it will have done about 1000 miles, close to the 1200 mile marker but I am sure that 1200 was a place marker for a reason? Hope that this doesn't have any adverse effects on the car.

There is no charge for the 1,200 mile break-in service in the US (Or at least there's never been a charge on previous generations of the M5, I hope that hasn't changed!).

How far over or under the 1200 miles are you allowed to be before you bring the car in for the first service? Anyone know if 1100 is too early or 1300 too late?

I was told keep it under 1200. And service wouldn't take it any sooner than 1000. So between those numbers.

Just had mine done last week in US. 0 cost to me, aside from service loaner (which was also waived). Mine was done at 1098 or so. I can't imagine there is much difference in wear within a few hundred miles either way. It's not like 1200 is some magic number.

Mine wasn't done until ~2,300 miles.

Dealer kept screwing up on not getting the rear diff fluid.

I told them, it's a lease, it's your problem.

Sitting at BMW right getting my 1200 mile service, called 2 weeks ago to make sure they had the Diff Fluid - "yes, we will pull it for you" after waiting 2 hours they come out to say they don't have any WTF....

To make things worse they found a F'in nail in my rear tire. Great, now have to buy a new tire.

I was quoted £640.00 @ listers for my M5 2018 and that was the cheapest, with this M5 CP I got it for the 16th April £500.00 @ Coopers as a bit of good will. So it's not cheap.

Stratstone, Soper or Sytner, who has the best price for the 1200 RIS, & does it matter who does it?
