Maybe there should be a separate thread for those who got bent over The point of this thread is to arm yourself with the experience and knowledge of those who know the business inside and out. I found this forum years ago AFTER my first European Delivery vehicle in which I took my turn getting screwed...

Most here just want a good deal and cringe at the unbelievable nonsense people shopping for a car tolerate. Knowledge is power, and if you don’t want to spend the time to use this invaluable knowledge to advance your negotiations so be it. Don’t expect us to pat you on the back for getting hosed!

Looking for 19 M5 base or comp in Nov.
Just curious to see if anyone here has experience using OL code for M5?
I am attending an event in NY in November to receive OL but I saw that there is excluded models for which it can be used.

Hi folks, first post and thanks for all the helpful info on this forum. Below are two lease offers that I haven't taken because they don't seem that great. Comments appreciated.

1)
MSRP $ 114050 # 19989
Final $107485
MF 1.45 (i'm guessing he's moving the decimal point?)
55% Residual
$5000 Drive off
36@1495 plus tax 10000 miles

Declined this deal and they came back with the below:

2)
MSRP $113695
Final price $ 106540
MF 1.45
55% Residual
$2800 drive offs (first month, licensing fees)
36@1424.56 plus tax 10000 miles

Cheers

I was also told that a 2020 M5C was "due to go on a ship in the next few days" so looks like the 2020s will be rolled out soon

Also, above offers were for M5C

At this point in time, I'd shoot for 13-14% off sticker before the $2500 rebate (curious what Aug program will do to this, btw). They're giving you 6.x% - that would've been a good deal about a year ago on 2019s, terrible right now.

2020s aren't carrying any significant changes (Live cockpit, newer iDrive), and will not be discounted well (to start); there's a good amount of 2019 inventory, try to get yourself a good deal there.

tenaciousE both deals suck.. based on your location I'm assuming you're dealing with local dealers.. if it were me i would target 2019 model as there is more room to negotiate and you should easily be able to get 10% of MSRP plus all applicable discounts on top of that and MF at cost of course. You can either use some of your credit to cover first month plus fee for your driveoff or pay for that out of pocket to bring payment down a bit more, that's your call. Given its last day of the month i would be working the internet sales managers of the phone today.. they tend to get desperate around this time especially for models which have been sitting in inventory for a while.

10% off is probably max at this time on 2019 .... I just pulled the trigger on one just a week ago , still waiting to receive next week,
you might get 11 % if a dealer is sitting on a car for a while , but car might have options you don't need
having said that , if you wait 3 plus month closer to the end of the year discounts will be better on 2019

I looked into some deals yesterday and found a few...

All deals are 5k down, max MSDs and loyalty. 10k/36. Pre tax.

SoCal:
M5 Base 106600 MSRP - $1,185
M5 Comp 114000 MSRP - $1,277
M5 Base 117xxx MSRP - $1,307

Bay Area:
M5 Comp, exec package, 123000 MSRP - ~$1,425
M5 Base, not sure of packages - ~$1,300

PM me for details. The deals in SoCal are from a broker I've worked with, he can ship anywhere in CA and outside depending on the state. The ones in the Bay Area are from a local dealer that has had the cars both for 200+ days and needs to move them.

My dealer will do better than this without MSD's. There is no loyalty this month for M5's. I picked up my ordered M5 Base yesterday, and he said they will do 10% off plus the rebate on any 2019 M5 in stock. PM me for his contact.

5k down is what though? Either way, those deals do not sound good. I’m not sure what the market is on the west coast, but those would certainly be poor for the northeast.

10% is ok. I’d say anything 12+% off, before incentives, would be a good deal at this time.

Sorry, 5k due at signing! Really? I haven't researched these that much, but thought they were really good deals. What's considered a good deal on one? Usually 1% of the MSRP per month is a good deal on any car, these being an M, I feel like anything close to 1% would make them a great deal. I was quoted 1,680 a month on a C63s with 82k MSRP. I have seen several M4 CS's out here for high 600's a month, dealers are doing massive discounts.

I mean what’s the breakdown of the 5k? Is it tax, tag and fees? it can’t be what’s truly do at signing because MSDs alone would be above that.

You should look at the % discount you’re getting before incentives. For example, the $123k deal you mentioned at $1425/mo works out to something like $111900 sale price, but that’s after $2500 credit. So actual discount is to $114.4k. That’s 7% discount.

On 2019s, at this point of the model year (ie it’s done, 2020s are being built), the discount before incentives should be (IMO) a minimum of 10% - that’s an ok deal. As I mentioned upthread, a truly good deal is 12+%.
