M Performance Door Projectors?

I was looking at some 2020's today and saw on the window sticker on one of them "M Performance Door Projectors" for $65 and then another line item "LED Door Projection" for $190. What are these? I'm assuming it's the puddle light that shoots the M onto the ground? Is this something that is installed at the port? It certainly wasn't an option when I ordered the 2020 and I don't see it on there site.

Yes, port installed options. They can be ordered/added up until your vehicle reaches port

I have the LED Door Projectors on my 2019. They are a port installed option. Your CA can add them to your order before the car arrives at the port.

Yeah... not working out so well thus far: my 2020's build sheet has both the 'phone cables' and the 'projectors' but neither were there when I took delivery. I only noticed the absence of the cables whilst t the dealer so I asked for them--you'd think this was an easy fix but the 2020 comes with USB-C almost everywhere except for the outlet near the wireless charging bay--but the only part/package BMW offer contains the standard phone cables so useless (no solution here thus far so I bought them myself from Best Buy).

I later noticed my door projectors weren't installed so I asked and my sales guy said they're supposed to be installed at port (weren't in my case) and, if not, they should be in the trunk somewhere... they weren't. They're on their way now.

To be clear, I loved the dealership experience and my sales guy, Aaron, was a +1 over even that so these are just niggling issues and nothing more. Seemed relevant here, hence the post...

I installed them on mine after the fact. Something like $110 with my store discount. I like them

Pretty interesting to hear they switched mostly everything to USB-C on the 2020! First I've heard about that.

Except for the front, yes.

The car also no longer supports legacy driver profiles so exporting them from a 2019 is of no use because there's no import--it's a solely online experience now through BMW Connected which is fine but a bridge from old to new would've been nice.

Just got a pair of these for my 2021 F90. Popped them in, followed instructions. I don't get anything.

I noticed that even my door lamps on each handle do not light up. Anyone else experiencing this?

I installed them myself, too, on my M5s. It worked first time. Perhaps they're not seated properly and the circuit is incomplete taking out the handle LEDs with it.

Try putting the stock ones back.

It's one of the easiest things to do

Just go to the parts department, get your desired logo, go to your door, and take a flathead to gently pry out the under puddle light, unplug it, and install the magnifier with the logo into the light and plug it back in.

There are some dealerships that sell online and have good pricing on OEM parts and accessories. Getbmwparts.com is actually local to me but has pretty good prices. I think they post on here as well.

But there are a few that have pretty good online stores and are a good option if your dealership wants to charge you MSRP.

It's pretty cool but to me it's a bit overkill. I think my car has enough ///M logos on it tbh, lol. Especially after adding another one to the license plate frame.

I love 'em. Many of my passengers comment (when dark enough) how cool they are… and they make me smile whenever I park. So worth every penny to me.
