I added a mild pump gas tune to mine and in “non hero” DA of 1500ish feet, it’s picked up 4mph in the 1/8th and 7mph in the 1/4. Zero to sixty in 2.3 So Porsche has some wiggle room. |

Absolutely. Cobb plus Sam is a killer combo. I was able to log and have Sam make some changes to make it very 93 safe.
In non hero DA my stock 60 to 130 is 7.4 seconds. The 93 pump gas tune dropped it to 6.3 seconds. |

Arguably the best service in the auto modding business.

As I have mentioned in quite a few threads, I haven't been very happy with the ZF8 in the F90, so I looked for a more fun car to add to the stable. Ended up getting a pretty sweet deal on my bosses '17 991.2 TTS, so I made myself a Christmas present.
I have to say I'm in love with the TTS. I think I've spent approximately 1hr driving the F90 total since I bought the Porsche. I daily drive it and it's everything I wanted my daily to be. I don't have to worry about steep ramps, as it has a lift system (RKP lip on the F90), it has a proper gearbox, ride comfort is actually better compared to the F90 comp and it's faster. Not even going to mention handling. If I wasn't so OCD about my wife curbing a wheel or scraping a bumper, I might've let her drive the F90 and sell her Audi, but I can't force myself to take that step, yet Already contacted Sam for a stage 2 tune on the Porsche and getting a K-Line inconel decat exhaust + inconel headers in about 4 weeks. The stock exhaust is kind of muted, but I'm sure the K-Line exhaust will fix that.

I kind of understand your point with the ZF but I've gotten used to it. If they said I could have the DCT back, I'd jump on it immediately so I guess that explains my true preference. PS: obviously the 911 wins on handling but in what ways is it faster than your F90? I also don't recall if your F90 was tuned or not? |

I have a JB4 on the F90. We did a few runs mid November at an abandoned runway with my boss and he lost all LC starts because the Porsche had winter tires on and had no traction (temps were around 13C). I had 305 wide PS4s in the rear on the F90. We did one run without LC and the Porsche destroyed me. I was running map1 on all those runs, the Porsche is stock.
We then did a rolling start from 80km/h, for which I switched to map6 (set to 25psi) and we were more or less even at 200+ km/h. I did edge him a bit at the start since he was driving in auto and the Porsche had to downshift when he floored it, but after that we were even. The F90 was definitely heat soaked from all the starts, while the Porsche was performing consistently. |

I still love the F90. Best 4 door on the planet in my book. Does a LOT of things awesomely ! Massive OVERACHIEVER!!! TTS is just a different deal. Much more visceral. Trans is awesome. Launch Control is SUPER easy and you can launch 50 times in a row without overheating anything. Can launch at 4200 or 5400rpm. Slow boost ramp or fast boost ramp. Run the Ring in 7:17 Congrats! |

Good point, I forgot to ask: map 6 is kind of meaningless without the boost targets and gas. I run map 6 as a my 'daily' (map 2 for now while I experiment with it in cold weather, though) ranging from +3ish and quickly to +5.5psi and then tapering off on the high-end.
My gas is 92 octane + BOOSTane Pro apparently yielding ~97 octane. |

My boost targets are quite similar to yours, if you remember discussing this over PM I spoke with Sam yesterday, discussing the Porsche tune and mentioned what fuel we have here (100RON). He said 100RON equals 95 octane US. I checked a random conversion table on the Interwebs and he seems to be right - http://www.pencilgeek.org/2009/05/oc...nversions.html

I am considering the leap to the 911. Although I love my F90, I don't drive it that often, and I have found that my biggest thrill driving it, is the sheer speed and nothing else. Might be time to look for a more exciting motor.

Same boat--- but been in it for a while cause the boat I own (the F90) is amazing in its own right. There are quite a few good deals on 2019 Turbo S's right now with the 992 coming soon. There are some crazy rumors on Rennlist that the 992 Turbo S is pulling crazy 2.2 zero to 60's stock; like I said rumors but I have no doubt it will be faster than an already herculean OEM 991.2 TT-S. In reality for me, all the Turbo S needs is exhaust.

I concur. My fear is that after spending US$ 300k in a 911 TTS, I will be left "disappointed" wanting something more exciting. The M5 is awesome but it needs a better exhaust, and more feel. |

You could add a 720S to the search. I cross shopped them, but the TTS is more of a daily driver “for me”. Ease of entry and less public profile pushed me into the TTS. Plus, now modded, it is equal to a stock 720S. Now mod a 720S , game over.

I did change octane booster; the math with BOOSTane Pro works out cheaper and less of it per tank making it more convenient, too. |

The 720S is way over the top when all one needs to do is hit the bank, mall, or a quick grocery stop. And for everyday all day use, the AWD in the 991 TT-S is top notch. Is Cobb OBDII yet or still a DME unlock and then OBDII?
