Got BMW's attention, apparently

After being owner of:
2014 X1
2015 i8
2018 m235i
2018 M2
2014 i3
2019 i3s
2018 M5
2022 M5 CS

BMW finally got the idea that I have become a BMW "convert". They called me today to ask if I had any questions and if I was happy with my last BMW car.

I am, but I did point out some little niggly items with the M5 CS, one of the strips on the roof is loose at the back (dealer already has part on order), and the "over the air" downloadable update is not installing of its own accord at this time. Super duper car. Best I've ever had so far.

Nice to know BMW is reaching out to loyalists.

Can you ask them if it's possible for them to send some OEM bronze gold exhaust tips. It's crazy it doesn't match. I feel like they should have it be an even swap but would maybe be willing to pay.

That strip in the back roof is loose on my green one too, and was loose on my gray one as well. Must be a defect of sorts.

Yup, mine was loose as well. Had the exact same problem on my M3 CS too. Not sure if it is double sided tape or glue. But, whatever they use, they need to change it.

They wouldn't stay that colour for very long and the matt finish would become glossy (from cleaning them) very quickly.

BMW fitted them on cars they gave out in Europe. Saw them in the presser cars and Daniel Abt's review of the car has them. Presumably this car is several months old with a few thousand miles at this point and looks good but really no idea. BMW could be changing them out every week for all I know.

Your list is longer, and quite bespoke.

Maybe it was owning three I cars that made it for me?

But honestly, it was a "how is the car, and are you satisfied".

Guy seems pleased that it was "awesome" and "absolutely".

Maybe it was just a "customer satisfaction survey" that you got?

Since you have an in, ask them to please send the G81 stateside. I've signed the petition, contributed $, and written to BMW many times about it.

Please and thank you.

Hey on my M5 CS both sides of mine the strip is loose as well. When I take my car in for 1200 I'm going to have them take care of this.

Both of mine are ever so slightly loose towards the back. It's a not uncommon thing. I believe it's just double sided tape holding them on, which they'll happily replace at the dealership. Haven't bothered to take mine in yet.

Yeah it's not a big problem. Not like it's going to fly off on the highway but just nitpicking on a $150k car rightly so IMO. Lol

This black strip that goes up the side of the windshield, and ends at the back of the roof. Towards the back, you may notice it slightly raised, and able to lift it a tiny bit by pulling on it.

Mine was loose as well 2021 M5 Comp. There is a system of clips that hold in place that seem somewhat fragile. Mine was not just loose, actually popped up. New strip ordered, had to be painted, then new clips used to replace. Tech put slightly more bend in the back of strip when reinstalled, now down very tight and secure. No problems since.

It's funny because with my non M cars, the cheaper ones like a 2, 3, or 5 series, I got gifts from BMW. But once I bought my first M it stopped. I'm still waiting to see if that trend changes with this one. Seems like the less you spend they more they give you
