Found a good deal on a 2020 M5 with 2k miles on it. The two things it had that my 2019 did not was CCB and drivers assistance pack. It was a BMW special event car. For some reason it feels a little quicker than my 2019 comp. May just be me. More photos coming soon.

But, the color on your old car. That's really something, too. What color was that?

To OP,

I was just saying this on another thread that having CCB's has a noticeable effect on how the car handles. How does it feel to you?

Hope you don't mind me adding my perspective. This is my first car w CCBs. I did ask during delivery if the brakes are bedded in, and they are not. After my long drive home from the PCD, the other afternoon I was able to sneak out on some back roads and bed the CCBs in.

Ho. Lee. Crap. They went from amazing to incredible. Full ABS stops are just instant (but the brakes can still easily overwhelm the grip of the tire). Amazing.

Having not driven a steel brake equipped M5 - I can't compare CCB to steel. My M3 had steel and the best thing I can say is there seems to be more willingness to turn in with the CCBs vs. the steel but that could be the dampers, programming, who knows.

I will say overall, the engineers did a great job of hiding the heft of the M5.

The only real comparison I've seen is the Carwow video of an M550i (steal brakes), M5C (CCBs), and tuned M5C (CCBs) where they did their emergency brake form the same spot at 70 mph. The non-tuned M5C did the worst. It was more than a car length in from of the M550i, which came in second. The M550i was less than a car length ahead of the tuned M5C. The takeaway, if the test really wasn't jacked some how, was that the tires made the most difference. Doesn't look like too much difference in stopping power between steel and CCBs and there's a decent difference just between CCBs based on tires.

Been waiting for the rain to clear. Looks stunning in the sunlight. So much more depth to the color than the red.

The brake modulation feels different. The CCBs seem to stop the car without as much force on the pedal. The car feels a little tighter handling wise but it's running continental tires vs pirellis on the other one. Also could be this one is just newer with 2k miles vs the other car with 16k miles. But overall I'm much happier with CCB. The steel brakes squealed very loud and these are quiet. Plus no brake dust. I drove 1100 miles in my Huracan and had less brake dust than my previous f90 did riding 5 miles to work.

That's a great color!! Enjoy in good health.

Reminds me a little of a Frozen version of Sakhir Orange although hard to appreciate the true essence of the color in pics.

I think the ccb saves in some unsprung weight. Prolly helps make the car feel a little more nimble.

I hope things go well for you! I wouldn't ever buy a "special event" or show car or a Corp car from a manufacturer because usually they're treated very poorly. Take for example the cars they use at the track days or press cars, they all eventually end up at a dealership as a "special event" car because for lack of a better word they can't exactly say here's a car we let random people beat the crap out of do you wanna buy it?

At least it should come with extended power powertrain warranty right?

It only had 2k miles on it so I wasn't too concerned. I have a M3 xdrive on order so I may not keep it when that gets here if it shows me any issues. I'm doing good if I keep a car a year. I'm the GM of a dealership so I'm constantly changing cars depending on what we trade for or acquire.
