Changing stock exhaust tips
Apprently, the oem tips have a groove to deal with that metal rod sticking out.
Has anyone cut the rod and replaced the tips? Is it easy to cut it? Without detaching the whole exhaust? Thanks |

The metal rod locates the tip angle. You can pull the tips off. Use a short section of broom stick or other tool against the rear of the tip and tap with a mallet. You can cut and grind the metal rod off if you want to fit universal tips that are not slotted to put the angled tips at the right angle. Angle grinder works great for this sort of thing but you can use a saws all.
I doubt you have to drop the exhaust but did not study the access to grind closely since I was just removing the tips and powder coating them black. |

I ended up taking it to shop and paid $40 to get the tips installed. They had to remove lower part of bumber/diffuser to get grinder to cut the rod. It's nice now! |

You have to tell them you want the //M logo. I guess it's illegal to sell //M logo on the image so they only do it for buyers who wants them but not show them online. |

I was able to cut mine off very easily and quickly using my M18 Milwaukee sawzall. At first I tried using my M12 Milwaukee multitool - but even when the blade reached effortlessly, the makeup of that metal cutting blade is not the same as the sawzall one, so it fried in a few seconds. With the former, it cut through like butter and no other component of the tail end of the diffuser/exhaust came in the way. Hope this helps anyone that wants to cut off the pins at home.
