Anyone tried "performance all season tires"?

My M5 has the stock Pirelli summer tires and they're super slippery when wet and cold here in the Pacific North West.

Has anyone here tried any year round all season tires or do most folks swap tires for winter/summer?

One suggestion I heard was "Pirelli P Zero All Season (Ultra High Performance All-Season)" here.

If anyone has had experience with those or has another recommendation I would love to hear about it.

Cheers

I do 2 sets. All seasons are fine at everything but great at nothing.

Do you have separate wheel sets or do you swap tires on the same rims? Can you tell me which ones you use (if you would recommend - interested in both summer and winter).

I absolutely love the Michelin AS4's on my wifes F15 X5. They stick like glue on that thing, are very quiet and are wearing well. I sell a lot of AS4's to clients in the shop, it is my go to all season for normal people wanting a quality non-RFT replacement.

I think they would work well on the F90, but obviously won't be up to the task of translating all of the torque into forward thrust at low speeds.

I had Michelin Pilot AS on my Audi S6 previously and they were good tires. I even drove them in 2 feet of wet snow and they did great.

I have the comp rims and will swap on Pirelli P Zero Winters. I will be able to recommend them in a few weeks when I put them on. It's my first winter with my M5C so I can't recommend these snow tires yet.

I have swapped in all of my prior cars - including 2 prior M cars. Why not out the best team on the field..or tire in this case.

Buy a set of take-offs like this:

Get proper winter performance tires mounted and just swap back and forth in your garage.

Why would anyone need snow tires? LOL.

I have two sets of rims. I picked up Pirelli Sottozero Winter 270 Series II M&S in the same size as the summer tires. They are W speed rated (168 mph) and XL for weight. This will be my third winter using these. I have had no major issues. I did come across some black ice, fortunately, on a straight section of a back road and had a "moment".

I was able to get a set of stock rims at a discount. Long story. I just swap them twice a year and I finally took the time to make a rack to store them.

I just purchased and mounted a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's…..they are excellent so far….

I was going to get snow tires, but they are hard to find and expensive. When I thought of it, X5's have all seasons and it's fine. So why wouldn't a M5 be fine?

We'll see if I calculated correctly.

Been running BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S All-Season on mine since I picked it up last Thanksgiving. Never got around to swapping back on the summers, this year. Come spring time I will have a mobile tire service come to my work and swap back on the OEM tires for the season.

No complaints on the A/S tires. Ran through some snow last winter with no issues. For me its easier (and cheaper) to have a mobile tire service swap the tires twice a year for $100 per visit than deal with a dedicated winter setup. Plus I like the look of the stock wheels.

If I am lucky I can stretch the 2 sets of tires until the lease is up and trade back in with the OEM's having tread life.

I have always been a Nokian fan. Gotta trust the Norwegians for snow tires, right?

Anyway, had a set of Michelin Pilot Alpins last winter and they are fantastic.

You can get a square set of 19” 265/40 painted M wheels mounted and balances for ~ $700 each. They have been great.

You'll get lots of choices from various online sources and dealers.
The best prices I found were in the mid $700s each.

I went and looked at the wheels when they arrived at my mechanics, and they look really good for painted chrome.

They are the same 19" wheels I had on my '18 M5, but they are painted and not machine polished.

Thanks everyone for sharing details and opinions. I'm going to try HardBob's route and put some P Zero Winters on the comp rims.

These tires make for a super comfy and quiet ride, so far I am really impressed. Much better on wet, will report back after I experience them on snow.
