Ram TRX Hellcat

Am I the only person that owns an F90 M5 that would consider trading it for a Ram 1500 TRX truck???

Before anyone ask, buying them both is not within my means; my financial planner keeps talking about my 401k COVID hit and retirement plans.

Trackhawk is a monster SUV - no stock X5M (even the new ones) can compete performance wise. However, the finish quality in the Dodge/Jeep family is pathetic. It will be fun to drive but it can't compete with the M5. I just came out of a tuned 17 X5M and before the F85, a 14 GC SRT. There's no comparison. I don't miss my F85 at all.

The TRX will be tempting because of the price and HP, it will be a beast of a full size pick up but you will miss your M5...

That is the one getting the Hellcat engine, right? Sweet. You need both obviously. Get a better financial planner. ooomph.

Think of all the new hot tattooed girls he will meet at the Redneck Yacht Club events. That is reason enough to dump a 150K super saloon. Don't be so judgmental, bud. lol

Are you retiring in the next year or two? If not, you will gain all that back that was lost recently.

So, yeah, you may in fact need a new financial planner.

I figured, I've always wanted something functional that also allows me to have fun hence the M5, it literally has like 5 personalities but I definitely can't haul stuff in it. I've owned MOPAR products in the past and I know this going to be hearsay in this forum but no automaker makes a perfect product with every vehicle that comes off a production line, they will all have their own issues. That being said BMW does put together a fantastic fit and finish.

The question comes down to, will I track it more (M5) or will I go to the desert with toys/haul stuff more (TRX).

I think you hit the nail on the head, in the end I would miss the M5 too much but the truck is going to be a whole different kind of monster.

I should have prefaced the conversation with my question comes from a purely performance perspective, what is your opinion. They're both sleepers capable of embarrassing most performance cars, and they both have multiple functional use-cases.

Understanding the hypocrisy of being a current F90 M5 owner, I don't care too much about the brand perception. Lightly modded trackhawks will eat an M5 alive, including most highly modded M5s in a quarter mile. Heavily modded trackhawks can get mid 9's which correct me if I'm wrong hasn't happened in an M5. That's only in a straight line, add one turn and the whole dynamic changes, need to pick up any object larger than a golf bag and the dynamic changes again.

I say all that to say, thanks for your value-added input lol sorry, not sorry if my question disgusts you.

Maybe keep the M5 and add a lower trim/engine (limited with hemi) truck. A lot of discounts on those at the moment. Plus 0% x 84 months if need be.

Consider this....you can buy an m5 below MSRP.....you'll be asked to pay $20 gran over MSRP for this Dodge......

Before purchasing my M5 I was on LeaseHackr desperately trying to find a broker that would assist on the lease of a 2020 Charger Hellcat widebody but got no responses. I started calling the local FCA dealers to order one and work a deal. After hearing the numbers being offered I said hell no!! Went back to a broker in the mid-atlantic with awesome lease deals on M5's that was only a couple hundred dollars a month more than the Hellcat so I jumped and 3 days later my car was shipped down from NJ to MD.

The TRX really has my interest though but wouldn't give up my M5 for it. I'm considering the TRX for my fiance's car replacement but I fear I'll run into the same poor lease run around I received with the Hellcat.

Y'all are right, there are some ridiculous markups on these vehicles sometimes, and i got a killer deal on my M5. Once they're available to order I am able to use military overseas car sales to purchase a TRX at just over invoice minus any rebates and pick it up at a stateside dealer of my choice. Ultimately I think I'll stick with the M5 because it is ridiculously fun to drive but I'm definitely paying attention to the final TRX product.

Buy whatever makes you happy. If it’s a monster RAM truck you’re dreaming about, then so be it.

I used to have a black gen V Viper, I loved it. My friends used to rag on me and call it a Redneck Ferrari, I ended up replacing it with an F12 which had nothing to do with the ribbing, I just love the F12. I've never let a brand name, make or break, my desire for an auto.

I have a Ram 2500 diesel and love it. Interior is awesome and quality has been excellent. If you want a truck, the Ram's are the best on the market right now.

Maybe keep the M5 and get a lesser Ram variant. I got a 2020 1500 Limited.

There's videos of stock trackhawks losing to stock F95/F96..
