BMW typically does not increase tq in the comp package. Did not for the M4. Look at the dyno sheets in the other thread. More HP. Same TQ.

Yeah like I just said another thread, F10 M5 was the same, minimal bump in HP and none for TQ.

The focus is on handling, but for the F90 there appears to have more cosmetic changes.

I wish the cosmetic changes were optional. Not everyone wants blacked out pieces

Hated the base 19" as well, good thing they don't offer it in Canada.

The new comp wheel looks better, but I'd probably go aftermarket anyways.

BMW needs to do a bit more like Porsche where you can fully customize the car from the build (color of your trim pieces, blackout your decals/logos, do you actually want the word "competition" under your M5 logo if you get that option, what color to paint your wheels, etc.).

He also has a wife and three kids at home and would laugh at the idea of having time to post on an online car forum. He might make it out to C&C once a year, but that's all the time he has for his love of cars now that he's no longer able to stay in tune with the brand like he could in his 20s and early 30s.
Kinda scary how much the above quote describes me nearly perfectly. However, I am in my early 40s and a life long BMW driver (although I absolutely hate my current X5). Also, I do still have time to post on forums

But the part about being a CXX, having 3 kids, only making it to C&C once a year... yeah, life gets really busy. The M5 checks off a lot of categories all at once. This, coming from a guy who use to have stacks of race tires in my garage for 10-12 track weekends a year in my E46 M3, back before I was married. lol

My commute in my F10 M5 was the most relaxing time of the day for me. Looking forward to getting back in to an M5 when this X5 lease is up.

Much, but not all, of this registers with me as well. I'm much younger (26), but work 15+ hour days, don't quite have the money/garage space for a weekend car like a 911, so the M5 checks all my boxes. Get to drive fast and spice up my commute, it's big enough to drive around my wife and our friends, and if we have kids, there's space.

But...I also have some time to post on these forums.

Well....I’ll trade you all my black pieces for your chrome when mine comes in.

If there is only a 25hp increase (on a 600hp car), this really sucks the life out of the CP for me. Need the 37trq increase as well; it helped close the trq. gap with the E63s (and yes, I know the M5 weighs less, etc.) It will be interesting to see what dinan does, and there are always aftermarket exhaust choices. +1 on the Cheesy black stick on "Competition" badge and also feel the wheels are OK at best. All of the OEM wheels so far are hard to look at except the '19s and I want 20s'. Maybe the actual US Spec. pkg will be better.

Exactly, the response seems just angry at something else. There's guys like me who don't get the comp pack because I always go in a completely different direction aftermarket. It makes no sense for me to store the wheels which is the only big ticket item in the package. Do I feel like BMW screwed me? No! Almost every single M car I've had since the E46 was always the base model because I never waited for comp package and never cared. So now going on M car number 7, same boat.

I'm 30, I buy and swap out every few years; currently being two F15 X5 for my wife and I, have the weekend fun 911....yet I still wanted a family cruiser that was quick, hence the M5. But the thing is as crazy as life gets and how busy the day is, I can come up with 5 min to post on the forum lol

I still wanna know when we’ll get all of the Aussie-standard specs... seat belts, ceramic buttons, etc. hoping this pack along with it being a 2019 model will address this.

Dang, US has no seatbelts? Lol, jk. Yeah, I’m definitely looking forward to those things too. If MY2019 doesn’t offer them I’m ordering separately and having them installed.

this whole segment needs a serious weight reduction. Here's hoping to get the car under 4000 lbs!

CCBs and titanium exhaust can only shave less than 100 lbs off. Personally, I would be ok if ZCP forces you to remove:

B&W
some electric features of seats (fore/aft, heating/cooling)
less padding in the rear seats
less padding/features on the doors (soft close)
rear zone climate controls

I'm sure those items are at least 400 lbs of weight, basically the heaviest "luxury" features.

When I got my M6 GC, I was shocked how much effort I had to put in to open/close my doors and fold down the rear seats.

Only negative I see is those wheels, they are probably lighter than others but the black look so much better.

Also need some better color options. Glad ceramic brakes are not included as more people will get this package on their daily driver.

Needs more aggressive styling though

Background. I have one on order. I didn't want to post this information until my dealer called and confirmed a date to finalise my order. Now after weeks of calling, pushing and just being plain annoying all the information from each contact is now coherent -BMW Australia, Munich and my Dealer.

Details I know so far...

Global Specification:
  • Power up 19kW (+25hp) 460kW
  • 0-100km/h 3.3 seconds
  • 0-200km/h 10.8 seconds
  • 305km/h top speed with m drivers package
  • Sports Exhaust** with competition specific tuning (more cracks and louder)
  • Revised Suspension (lowered and firmer in sports/+ settings)
  • Y-Spoke 789M wheel
  • Black Badging, including "competition" under rear M5 logo
  • Black front and side grills
  • Blacked out lower portion of rear bumper (around diffuser)
  • High gloss rear boot lip in black
  • M Carbon Engine Cover
  • Competition illuminated door seals

**The Sports Exhaust is not the full titanium exhaust
*Carbon Ceramic Brakes are not included

Performance details now leaked on the BMW Germany website:

https://www.bmw.de/de/neufahrzeuge/m...nen-blick.html

Website currently taken down

The price. I know majority of the people reading this are not from Australia. If you are, fantastic, I can give you a price to the dollar. $229k before on roads (Australian Dollars). But again, most of you this means nothing. I can say, the price is almost identical to the last competition package on the last generation F10. Given this US customers can expect the price to be similar to the last comp pack.

As per my last post production begins in July. Deliveries begin in September.

Australian buyers will see quite a few extra options standard with the package including the Bowers & Wilkins diamond surround sound system.

Per Marius16, here's the F90 M5 Competition with Y-Spoke 789M wheels:

Its quick, but its huge. I am sure it will smoke a ferrari or two.
Who actually plans to track this car?

They advertise it as 600 HP here in the States, but in Germany it's 600 PS. 600 HP would be about 608 PS or 447 KW.

Either way, the motor is underrated, so metric or not they can call it 600 and get away with it.

It's been live on the website for quite some time now. Just doesn't have the competition package. My guess is that will be updated in late June.

I'm guessing the comp package will be $8k.
