Oh the F90 M5 is definitely super impressive, sorry if my post didn't convey that, I just thought the 60-130 time would be faster is all. It's just one metric for measurement anyways so it's not a big deal, it's all just fun discussing these insane cars; thank you for providing these test results.

Will run it on a linked AWD dyno soon

Incorrect. The F90 is considerably quicker...

Traction isn't an issue at stock power levels so naturally one can expect it to be faster in RWD due to less drivetrain loss. The 60-130 times shown are right in line for 127-129mph traps.

It's about finding the sweet spot between gearing and momentum. It's best to get going in fourth gear (to avoid a second shift) around 50mph and end at the top of fifth.

Thank-you for your responses...

A stock C6Z traps anywhere between 122-125 MPH on average. It is capable with solid/impressive DA to get higher numbers. The C7Z is between 125-128 MPH on average.

I am happy you are providing the info and we welcome it - that said I do not believe the low to mid 8 second 60-130 pulls are equal for a 127-129 MPH car. Many builds ago, my car was trapping the same numbers as the F90 and ran mid to high 7's 60-130. Different car granted - with a different number of gears and different gearing - but the same/near same 1/4 ET and 0-60 MPH numbers of the F90 (which shows you just how quick and fast this generation of luxury GT cars have come lol)...

When I get mine - I will of course tell all of these numbers - and road surface/temps/DA will also determine changes to the final results.

That said, I am sticking with my at least high 7 second 60-130 prediction lol.

Appreciate the efforts!

Confirming the validity of the OP's findings:

DME tuning got a similar 60-130 time

n54tech got similar dyno numbers as well

Terry also expected a mid-7 60-130 time, perhaps it'll speed up as the engine ramps up more miles

Thank-you for this...yes - break in, temps, DA, road surface - many variables. Looking forward to more testing as the cars come on the road!

Thanks!

Gaining momentum in 3300lbs is far easier than in a car weighing 800 more pounds. Gearing is also relevant, as you mentioned. For reference our W213 E63s ran 8.6 bone stock. Low 8's are stout for something of this size, but what do I know

That is a very fair point. My car was 4000 lbs with fuel and driver...but 400+ lbs is a different boat (pun intended). Acceleration would be a challenge. And since the E63S was similar and DME has similar numbers - I could just be plain wrong lol.

But still hopeful!

Yep 60-130 is just one metric, as mentioned I expect to get walked IRL, with even reaction time etc

You've posted data of the same car

It will most certainly run mid 7's stock...down a mountain

And herein lies the point. For a 4300+ lb 16 foot luxury GT car - this car is quick.

OP made a good point about weight - these cars are heavy and although from the dyno results there is a goodly amount of power, getting that heft to provide a solid 60-130 is tricky. Trap speed is the potential of the car - and again for a four door luxury GT car - 127-129 MPH is a goodly amount of potential.

Great time to be a car enthusiast!

Well I was hoping we can put a rest to this M5 is detuned before 1200 mile service theory.

So would be nice to know the milage on the car when the OP did the pull.

I’m glad your feelings are still hurt. And perhaps, you should leave argumentation to adults like me. Hilarious how that analogy still escapes your pea brain.

And it’s “mileage” not “milage”, YFI

Based on the 60-130 of this M5 relative to that of the C6 Z06 and based on the video from the other thread of the E63 S destroying the M5, there’s no way in hell this is a 127-129 MPH trap car, more like 121-123 MPH and that WHP reading is probably coming from a very optimistically calibrated dyno.
