I agree. I double checked the window sticker and it says full leather but the leather doesn't run all the way down the doors like F10 did.

Something is not right with that. The videos of cars with full leather have shown leather all the way down.

Here are two pics. It looks exactly like the configurator. Bottom part of the door is black just like the configurator. Full leather ads leather under the dash and I assume other places.

full leather back then meant the dash and footwell on the F10 M5. now a leather dash is standard I see no reason for the full leather option.

I think the other posters are referring to the section in the center console. In the configurator, it shows that the entire section is brown colored, but in your car, only the upper section is brown.

Ahhh I see. No big deal at this point. I would've preferred full leather on the doors though.

Seems BMW cuts corners (in this case leather) to save money. I can kind of understand it in the M3/M4, but not the M5. The only way to truly get full leather is to get the 7 series.

Yep. Full leather should mean full leather. They're still charging $3500 for it.

just for your information. i orderer a m550 with brown interior. when the cars as came to the dealer, bmw as make a mistake on the build .... probably the same thing for your interior ...

don’t look that you have the option installed ...

It's interesting. The configurator shows it different than reality. At least for "full" leather. But when you look at videos of individual leather, the leather does in fact extend all the way across the center console and down to the foot well. Take a look at the tartufo and smoke interior videos.

The fact that the configurator shows more leather than what full leather actually provides is technically false advertising. Charging $3500 for significantly less leather that what is expected is bad form for BMW. It sure does not look like we get our $3500 worth upgrading to full leather. What would be really helpful is if an extended leather car was compared to a full leather car, with all the additional leather pointed out. If it's merely under the dash and a small piece on the center console, it sure seems like a waste of money.

Agreed. I paid for full. A couple of pieces is not worth $3,500

I'm glad I crossed Full Leather off my order at the last minute. I have it now, but doesn't seem worth it. But with base (extended) leather the IP and other area are covered with the Sensatec vinyl. This has a slight grain, not as smooth as the leather.

All the IPs are wrapped with stitched material. The standard is wrapped with Sensatec which is BMW's "synthetic" leather, better known as vinyl (might be PU based, I don't have the exact spec). The Full option has a genuine leather wrapped IP (Merino leather I believe). The Sensatec is grained, the Merino is smooth.
