I'm old school. I prefer the clean lines of the F10. F90 is so busy looking. The F10 is elegant vs perhaps F90 is aggressive. just don't think it will age well. On the other hand, I rather prefer the look of M550 over M5.

impressive indeed. But no one said they HAD to do an AWD system. Poll any current or potential M owner out there, I bet a vast majority would either be against it in one way or another.

Also be aware, the method for reporting weight differs between EU and USA standards. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10...rb-weight.html

The word "switchable" may sound attractive but it just means "rwd with unnecessary weight needed for guys who can't drive."

Really liking the new changes but mainly because it will finally lower down the price of the F10 M5.

Watch out 1970's caddy's your about to look small compared to the 5 series.
God I am so tired of reading this comment. Sometimes I wonder if the people who keep complaining that BMW's have gotten larger have ever looked at non-BMW's. PEOPLE, EVERY CAR HAS GOTTEN BIGGER IN THE LAST TWO DECADES. How big and heavy do you think an E-class is? How big is an A6? Are you really expecting BMW to roll out an E39-sized 5-Series today when the competition has gotten so much bigger? How many 5's would they sell if the new 5-Series was dwarfed in size by the E-class, A6, etc.? If you want something smaller than a 5-Series, I have great news, BMW already makes an E39-sized car, it's called a 3-Series, though people STILL complain that the M3 is "a bloated pig", even though it's the lightest car in the segment. Just like the new M5 likely is. And that's totally ignoring all the keyboard psychics who have already decided the new M5 drives like shit without ever even having seen one in person. I mean Jesus Christ, seriously, what does BMW have to do?

Interesting to hear another long time F10 M5 owner agree with me on this. I also feel their entire lineup is not compelling me with the exception of 2 possible models. I am looking forward to seeing the new ///M8, as there will be no more M6 for quite some time, and I am actually looking forward to the new G20 3-Series, or more specifically I am quite interested in the new 2019 G20 M340i if they bring it here to the United States with a Manual Transmission option. I have a feeling that the new G20 3-Series will look good. I am a bit weird though. I absolutely love the G11 7-Series but am not excited at all about the G30 5-Series, so I am thinking that new 3-Series might surprise me. The new M340i is supposed to be getting the updated B58 engine with 355hp which I think will make an excellent daily driver on those days I want to save miles on the M5. Here's to hoping! Oh and I also think the ///M8 will be a moot point for me anyways as I expect a fully loaded one to exceed $170k and I may as well shop for a McLaren 570GT for that kind of money.

Everyone soon gonna mod their start button and paddleshifters in red soon. Nice touch though, interior really needs more bright sports, I dig it. Heck, Id have my start button in different color, it really breaks up the gloomy plastics and leathers.

F10 carries with it that E39 understated quality though. Hard to fault, a fine car this M5. I love how understated it looks, very hard to spot in traffic unless you know them. The interior is that I really like about the F90. Much nicer.

Love the interior.
Yeah, as a stand alone design they are super ugly element. Same confused stuff that Mercedes S212 has going on on its face... It is visually uncomfortable to look at, as if designers switched mid through. Like someone said lets make a straight line, and another person said lets make it round and chunky. You can have either or, but not both. bizzare. And people buy it too, but average tastes are... average. Basically buy the car in light color so they all blend in a bit. Kinda like with Porsche 996s that are in silver- headlights dont look that bad all of a sudden.

Most of the haters will have an F90 M5 in their driveway in 12-24 months ... same story as the F10. Very few have even seen this car in person. With you on this ...

That's not what it looks like. It's simply a series variant designation that has been reserved if it is decided to explore the possibility of moving forward. Nothing more, nothing less. F81 was reserved, evaluated, and passed on. It won't be produced.

I am sure the car will drive great. It is just not enough of improvement over the F10 IMO to win me over.
