WTH really? My dealer is saying they cannot order mine yet, and from what I know I am on the top of their VIP list.

Yeah I got messages from 2 dealers and a friend in corporate saying that you can make reservations already. They let me know on Thursday. $1000 down.

Outlook not so good

I seriously doubt they will have remote start. Although, I'd love it if they did.

It's a function of Remote Control Parking (engine start/stop via the display key). This won't come until a Block Release next year IIRC.

I don't get it. Order banks are opened but we still haven't seen the final product.

Yeah... I've got to get one more promotion to get into the required income bracket for this new M5. That standard options configuration is really close to being "enough". The Exec Pkg looks to be the key add-on. Really looking forward to the full reveal in September.

Out of the 5 BMWs I've owned:

2005 530i - Sapphire Black
2006 330i - Sapphire Black
2006 M3 - Silver Gray
2008 M5 - Sapphire Black
2014 M5 - Sapphire Black

So yeah, I think I'm ready for a change.

Until yesterday, my dealer does not know how it looks like and how much it costs or what options is available?
But they are taking orders!

Thanks for the info.

It just leaked that the forthcoming M2 CS is getting Hockenheim Silver as one of five colors (other four: Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Long Beach Blue and Sunset Orange) (see here).

Can you give us any hint how this silver color looks ? Is it similar to good old 'Polaris Silver' or more like 'Titanium Silver' ?

I don't recall having seen it in person (it's code C33 and was added to the database in May). It will be shown soon with plenty of time to decide before it's available to order. So far the only F90's I've been around were BSM, Rhodonite Silver, Marina Bay Blue (Film Car with Comp Pkg), Alpine White, and the new Frozen color teased recently.

Thanks. Looking forward to it.

A few months ago I sat inside the F90 M5 in Marina Bay Blue (no camouflage) (see here). IMHO MBB is one of the best dark blue BMW colors.

In previous times, and probably still true, a dealer could take a deposit on a not-yet-formally-announced model, but it isn't an "order." All it did was place you on that dealer's list for submitting an order later. And unless the 'contract' said you were on a specific place on that dealer's list they could always later put a "better" customer ahead of you.

A dealer couldn't actually take an order until NA released the official order form and the model was officially released for sale. I once got a "reservation" 2 years before the model (an E39 M5) officially went on sale. As far as your status is concerned, nothing really starts until your order reaches Production Status Code 37 -- "Order is at BMW NA."

I love my full merino sakhir orange inside my M4. I'm disappointed that's not being offered. Sweet car though. Takes on the body/interior styles of the M3/4. But still, no sakhir, could be a deal breaker for me.

Think there would be a retrofit available for the HEA cars?

Anything to watch out getting one from the HEA batch?
