Post 2018 BMW M5 HEA Ordering Guide

Here's a look at the HEA Ordering Guide for the 2018 BMW M5 (F90). Thanks to Steve K. for the guide.

HEA order guides are used by U.S. dealers to configure their demo/presentation cars. "HEA" stands for "Handler Erst Ausstattung", the first production cars delivered to dealerships for demo purposes.

  • Champagne Quartz Metallic (Individual)
  • Almandine Brown Metallic (Individual)

Hmmmm lots of blue. Not a bad thing, but a little bit of variety would be nice. More or less it's blue, gray, black, and white.

Wow, nice to see Snapper Rocks Blue. Never would have expected to see that color offered on this car. That's going to make for a very eye-catching look on such a large vehicle. Interesting that they chose that color rather than the similar Long Beach Blue since Snapper Rocks was neither carried over from the standard 5 Series nor is it an M (and M Performance) Exclusive color as Long Beach is. I actually like Snapper Rocks a bit more (a little more aqua), so no complaint here. Can't wait to see pictures of a production car in this color.

SRB over Aragon would look nuts, especially with the CF Roof

Decent standard equipment. I think this is the first BMW that I've seen (not sure about the 7 series) in which the rear camera is standard and not bundled with the Exec or other package. Makes sense as the law says 100% of new cars should have this by May 2018.

Nice to see the alcantara headliner is still standard. And caramel is back!

Almost two months ago I saw the car up-close without any camouflage (for my notes: see here - I left my smartphone outside the room as requested) and can confirm that MBB looks much better in reality than that brochure color representation posted in a previous comment in this thread.

Though the light inside the 'discovery room' was intentionally kept rather low, I recall that I appreciated it as a cool dark blue, with the metallic particles properly doing their sparkle job. It gave the car a cool presence (and I mean this as a compliment). If I were in the market for an F90 M5, I would seriously consider this color or Singapore Gray Metallic.

Colors shown in this post feature MBB, and it's definitely a better representation of what I have seen:

I had forgotten Snapper Rocks was listed in that post. I suppose it could have been inferred that it was coming to the M5 since it hadn't shown up on any other G30 yet, and the M5 is really the last model to arrive (aside from the 540d, but little chance of any exclusive colors there - especially a sea blue color).

Just one thing though - what happened to Royal Burgundy Red? Is that offered on any G30 yet? I don't recall seeing it in the guides.

I think everybody needs to remember that these are just the dealer demo cars and that the real production model will have more interior and exterior color options available. Would be interesting though, if no Sakhir Orange or equivalent color was offered or some sort of red or orange interior color either. I am glad to see that Snapper Rocks Blue will be available, however, I do wonder if the new M5 will get any kind of dedicated ///M colors, such as the E60 M5 getting Interlagos Blue, or the F10 M5 getting Monte Carlo Blue as exclusive colors to those ///M models. So far most of the colors listed for the dealer demos belong to other BMW's or the F85 X5M. Cool looking wheels and seats though. I am just waiting to see what the official curb weight is going to be. Cool seats and cool colors aside though, I still feel this generation M5 doesn't have too much differentiation than the new Merc E63S in a lot of ways. And I feel obliged to reiterate how disappointed I am with ///M's decision to use the S63xx engine again.

Oh I also wonder what Rhodonite Silver looks like.
