Help needed- anyone know the history of this MY 19 Nardo?

Long shot here, but hopeful none the less:

Link: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...318456195/NONE

Interested in trading in my G80 base for this as I found it local. Car seems to of began its life in LA at Alexander BMW and was held to roughly 26k miles and sold October 21st of 2021.

Carfax in images shows it was held briefly by a second party listed as a dealer and acquired another 3k miles (cringe) before surfacing on a local lot.

Does anyone know anything about this car? Is the original owner by chance active? Would love to know any details.

I’d ideally prefer a lower mile approach- however individual paint, nardo grey, and a list of enhancements I at least find Visually attractive are all def pros… if sitting on KW coils, forged wheels which I like… riffing here- just thought it may be worth a shot.

A tire at 12 miles before it was even leased.

Even has the F reflector deletes.

Unless you could see it in person, be able to drive it, and have a pre purchase inspection, the 3.5k miles before sold again in less than 2 months would make me very nervous. I'd also have to see documentation of multiple additional oil changes, as well as the break in service completed. If you do all of that and everything checks out, then reasonable.

Have your local SA run a vehicle history report on the VIN. That will show all services (or lack thereof) since inception no matter who the owner was. Great way to see scheduled as well as non scheduled services done to the vehicle

The guys on the Cartechnology forum can run the VIN for you.

I would not be surprised if the car had a previous stage 1 - 2 given its been lowered and had new wheels. Get BMW, if at all possible to check it over.

Isn't this the one that had the blown engine? I remember a Nardo M5 with that spoiler for some reason...

EDIT: Don't think it was the blown engine m5 (@bryabee3).

EDIT 2: This was NOT @YanoM5 's m5 either

The wheels, the trunk lip, exhaust tips, black emblems, and other carbon goodies, in combination of being in Studio City / North Hollywood is personally a huge red flag for me. I say that only because this is where I live and this is the typical car and mod spec of a teenager in this area. I'd be willing to bet it was more than likely tuned as well. Take that info however you'd like, but I've lived here my entire life...lol

You can also run the tune detection routine in ISTA if you have a copy handy.

windtendo You sir are a hero. Exactly what I was hoping for in a best case scenario. Car is beautiful, but I am not interested in a previous stage 2 application. I imagine if he was ordering custom 1 off wheels 7-8 months ago and building the car for meth,,, something changed.

Search continues. to come out of the G80 will require something rather clean. This was my 1st time driving an M car off lot. Sure is nice to know the full history of a car. Decisions decisions.

I believe this is the M5. I remember the wheels and the color of the car.

I never understood the all-black BMW logo thing. Looks cheap.

Also, that spoiler…for some reason it doesn’t flow with the car’s lines to me.

Yeah, I thought I recognized that car, too, from a previous post......wasn't there one a dealer was selling that the dealer knew the warranty wasn't even active anymore due to BMW voiding the warranty (this was a non-BMW dealer selling it)?

Was this that same car?

I remember the license plates of NardoM5 now (and that seems to be this car)...but don't remember if that car was the same one I was talking about above.

So it appears the M5 had a tune at least that was his fist mod he had planned per his post.

What's wrong with tuned cars? I see for many people it's a red flag…

At least in the USA, BMW will void the power train warranty of the vehicle and it will be flagged as such. A owner on the forum I believe back in the 2019 timeframe had such and issue with his M5, the M5 had a tune and the engine needed to be replaced. Long story short with labor the engine change through BMW was around 50k. I believe the owner sent the car out of state to a repair shop and I still believed it cost him around 30 - 35k. He still had problems with the vehicle once it was returned to him.

The sad side of tuning - Flash tuned BMW F90 M5 blows motor and BMWNA denies warranty, wants $59,500 to repair

Thats a good question from someone that is not running a tune on mine now, but have thought about it and might do it. I personally would not buy a car with any tune on it although i might consider if it had one of the boxes on.

I have in the past had a tune added to a car and would do it again, but i guess there are so many tunes around that you dont know what the last person has done and how up to the limit have they gone so with an expensive cost for blown engines and transmissions, i guess for me i would not touch it!

Tricky one though........
