My initial impressions before break-in, comparing a back to back test drive with a M5 C LCI
https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=30

Now after break in, 2700 miles and a good 40 minutes in the twisties and some highway pulls:

Suspension & Steering
Its a wide car, but feels agile- feels like I can use telepathy to know where my front wheels are going to go - much like my M4 GTS but much more comfortable. As I mentioned before, the rear wheels - its longer than F82 platform - but it felt like I had longer legs and I can feel and control where those legs are are.
Smaller steering wheel in alcantara; feedback is really, really good.
Best way to express it, is as if you're wearing wearing thin white gloves, while the M5 competition - you're wearing winter thick gloves

Transmission: with DCT, I can time my shift at exactly at redline - this ZF transmission- I have to shift a milisecond ealier, and downshifts are bit slower than DCT, but less jerky and upshifts are just as good as any BMW DCT out there. Also have to re-think when to shift as there are 8 gears numbers and you have to shift earlier with ratios being shorter than 7 speed DCT.

Power: easy to hit redline- because power builds up so linear, with no sense of power loss inches to the redline. 2nd gear feels too short, and 3rd gear is the strongest power band and you can feel the speed build up very well through 4th, 5th, 6th, unlike the isolated F10 M5.
Punching the gas- there is a short delay in automatic mode but once it goes, it goes! Lost twice to a tuned ZL1 1LE by using auto. Once I went manual (in 3rd) he was car lengths behind!

Launch Control: Absolute freight train.. but quirky.
Launch control for this car is in manual mode; BUT DONT SHIFT GEARS YOURSELF! Doing so screws it up and technically takes it out of launch control and I find myself screwing up the upshifts and redlining because everything happens so fast from 2nd to 3rd
1st gear to 2nd gear definitley had me made waiting for the "punch"- but then all pf a sudeen, it suprises you and hits you hard from from 2nd to 3rd

Dampening- (Pirelli Zero 4 (PZ4 OEM)You feel the contours of the tarmac, but at the same time it just glides over it like a thin film of KY jelly
Very comfortable, doesnt have a jarring effect when going over bumps, smooth, yet supple. The GTS feels like a bowling ball (ok maybe not that bad), while this feels like a tennis ball rolling on the ground

Sorry, lots of abstract descriptions above. But I hope this helps

Wait, to be clear, are you saying the CS has to be in manual mode to engage LC?

Because on the regular M5, you leave it alone and engage LC and you're off. You dont shift anything, you let the car do it.

No shrink wrap comes on matte cars. My grey one was covered in white protective film. Not so easy coming off. This one was easy. Car was filthy though.

This is my first car with matte paint. Quality is super impressive. Big leap for me as I usually hate matte paints. Also, usually stick to black or gray or silver paints. This green is magnificent. Was worried I'd hate it in the sun but this is not the case. While I loved the Brands Hatch, so happy I took the chance on green.

Rinsed. Foamed. Rinsed. Foamed. Rinsed. Blow dried. Applied some matte detailer/sealant to all paint. Applied BeadMaker to all trim and carbon fiber and glass. Ran out of daylight. This weekend wheels are coming off and will apply BeadMaker. Matte paint was a joy. Not a single imperfection, which I can't get over.
Use Dr. Beasley's matte shampoo instead of CG. Thank me later

AFAIK, manual mode, launch control, will shift automatically for you.

I tried to launch in "D" but wouldn't engage launch control flag

I'm curious when someone is going to get a chance to put the CS on a dyno so we know what the Germans are up to with factory tuning...

Wow- significantly higher than stock m5, which I believe just barely scrapes 600rwhp (crazy in its own right)

My M5CS began production today. Any guess for how long from here until I will receive the vehicle?

60 days maybe?
For mine, it was 45 days after production was completed when it arrived to the dealership

Mine took about 2 months. Went into production status mid June and I took delivery mid August. Your time may vary as it depends on how long it sits at the dock in Germany waiting for a boat.

Once on a boat it takes about 4 weeks to make it's way to the port in Cali (going through the Panama canal) and then it can vary depending on any dock/port delays.

Ahhhhhh thanks! Did not see that video.

I take it 647 at the wheels?

Pretty crazy.

Could be up to a week before it gets on a boat. Then, 2 weeks to get to east coast ports or 4 weeks to get to the California port. Not sure which one Texas cars go to.

After that, could be dispatched from the port quickly, or it could be held up like other cars. No real way to know, sadly.

I'm curious to see if the dealer markup/flippers are asking more of a premium or less. Gonna be interesting.

broker offered my dad 10k over, but that seems like a lowball in all honesty. Delray is 75k over, and on number 3...

anything over 30k i think he'll cut it loose.

10k over doesn't even cover the tax, tags and registration here in AZ.
