That part I did VERY CAREFULLY manually in very small sections at a time with GOO-Off and isopropyl alcohol and it took me about 2 hours!

I had IND pre-install the 3M tape underneath the spoiler and also checked the pre-applied ceramic box (my car has full ceramic) so installing the CS CF spoiler on the car was a breeze. Because it's OEM, it aligned with the trunk's lines very well and I installed the CS spoiler (after the trunk was prepped) in about 10 minutes. I just positioned it where I wanted it, then made a blue painter's tape template around it, pulled about an inch or 2 of the red 3M tape plastic back (on the bottom of each end of the spoiler), pressed hard for about 30 seconds, repeating with each several inch segment, until the end.

Here's some pics... (Incidentally, we just bought back our X1 (next to her) off-lease, that was a no-brainer with car prices the way they are...that was a steal!!)
Looks great. What you removed from the OEM spoiler is called Betalink. It’s BMW’s adhesive they recommend and use on all OEM spoiler parts. Just a tip in the future heat it up a little with a heat gun and take your finger and “rub” it in the direction of the glue strip and it will come off much easier and quicker. I’ve done several in around 2.0-30 minutes this way. I’ve never reinstalled a spoiler with the betalink though…Always used the higher quality trim level 3m adhesive and it’s never failed if you apply it correctly etc.. Sounds like you did a great job. Just wanted to let you know you can remove that betalink another way next time to maybe save you some time. That is some nasty stuff lol.

Congrats! The joys of being able to order both options of a part available before choosing which one is the right fit!

Drop some pics! I'm curious how it looks on that awesome exterior color choice.

Thanks for the pointers trev230! Yes, I actually tried heating and rolling the betalink but it was too thick and it went back into place and wasn't budging much in larger sections. I think I wasn't close enough to the trunk surface with the fishing line when I separated the OEM Competition spoiler from the betalink, so it might have been too thick to roll by that method (hence the blisters on the thumbs!). I was a little nervous getting that close to the paint or even trying a rubber adhesive removing wheel, so I just ended up rolling it back towards the edges in small balls, then thinning it out with the 2 paint-safe solvents as I continued. First time installing. cheers!

For anyone reading this in the future, do yourself a solid and go out and buy some Mother’s R3 race rubber remover. it’s intended purpose is to get molten racing tire streaks off of paintwork, but since beta link (and 3M tape) are petroleum based, it works wonders on them. I use the Goo Gone first, to soften and absorb into the tape or Betalink, and the R3 gets rid of ALL the residue that remains, especially that stubborn leftover hazy layer that you can’t scrub off with Goo gone alone.

That's nuts … just paid $590 in early November for the CS spoiler. That's a crazy increase in price.

BMW Parts pros has it for $625.00.

Call me crazy but I was planning to take my spoiler off the cs and put the m pro part on. I was either going to install the cs spoiler on my wife's car or sell it but then I just got a 3d design spoiler for the Singapore car so who knows. 😂 I thought the m pro was a more aggressive look Than the m5cs spec but I've never seen it in person . I love the car by the way. One of the best out there. The color is similar to my 22 gts coupe in Chalk. Way better than the cs brands grey I was stuck with.

For what it's worth it appears my cs spoiler was taped on I think I could have pulled it off pretty easily.

Does anyone have a picture of the OEM CS spoiler on a pre lci car? It looks great on the LCI cars, but curious to see how it would look with the pre lci tail lights.
