Thanks Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers!

I just wanted to take a minute and share the great experience I had with Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers.

My background quickly - been a bimmerpost lurker for probably five years. Sold my 2018 M3 ZCP back in December for a 992S/7MT. Found out I actually didn't like the car after I got it home, so sold it back in May and have been on the hunt for a M5C.

Never used a broker before, but will say, every sales and service interaction I have at my local BMW center has left me less than satisfied. I'd been lurking on here and everyone says that Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers is the go to.

I reached out to Dan earlier this month after getting the run around from my local guy (no discounts, marked up money factor, me having to ask multiple times for the numbers). I think as the market stands today - discounts are not happening ANYWHERE - at least on these cars. The demand is just too high. OTOH, I refuse to pay ADM (and on a personal note, I think anyone who is currently paying over sticker needs to either have completely throw away f-you money or understand the risk they are taking (which is they will be under water for the duration of their financial obligation)).

Anyway, once we got thru the 4th of July holiday, Dan was able to quickly secure me a build, got it done at MSRP and base money factor. Once we found a dealer with a build, the entire transaction was done in about an hour and the car is currently scheduled for production.

As an FYI - currently in the 2022 configurator they are NOT charging gas guzzler tax - so this is a 1,000 savings on MSRP. I'm not sure if the fine print of our contracts allow them to come back and raise the price once we lock in (I'm all signed and done) but for those on the fence about ordering - do it now, I suspect this is a bug in the configurator.

Dan also pointed out some other programs that I was eligible for - there is loyalty money currently available on the M5 (750 I think), there's a credit union that is associated with BMW FS that will kick in 500 cash back at delivery if you have an account with them (PenFed) and as it turns out the state I'm buying the car from has a strict max on dealer paperwork fees (97 bucks vs. the over 600 i was going to be charged in FL).

I'm doing PCD on this as well (first time for that). Frankly - first time I've ordered a car vs. taking something off the lot. Pretty stoked - 2022 M5C in Marina Bay Blue / Silverstone Full. All options except carbon brakes.

Anyway - thanks Dan for helping me with my dream car and for helping me navigate this crazy world of insane dealer markups. I'd definitely recommend Next Level Auto Brokers to anyone not wishing to go thru the hassle of a local dealer negotiation process.

I just put a deposit on my 2022 M5C on Wednesday. I saw the same thing as you that the gas guzzler is not on the configurator yet, but there will be the same $1,000 GG tax. My salesman saw it on his dealership build sheet. It's just in the online configurator yet because the 2022MY is so new the regulators have not yet confirmed no change to the GG tax from the 2021MY. I'm not saying the dealer you signed with won't honor the price they quoted, but I can tell you there will be $1,000 GG tax on the 2022 cars.

Also, my order is almost the same as yours - 2022 M5C, MBB, Silverstone, Dark Carbon trim, Exec Pack, B&W and red brake calipers. Only difference is I don't to the DAPP or MDP.

It's the M Driver's Package. It includes two things: 1. it increases the electronic speed limiter on the car from 156 mph to 190 mph, and 2. admission to the one-day M School at the Performance Center. Note you can buy the one-day M school admission for $1,550. So this package really only makes sense if you live in Germany and can actually use the extra speed on the autobahn, or if you're leasing so you can residualize 58%-60% of the cost (then you get the M School for $1,000 - $1,050).

The M Driver's Package also makes sense if you plan to track the car and want to remove the limiter.

Yes, good point. Although I'd be willing to bet that less than 1% of M5s actually see the track. I also don't know if I'd have the stones to take my car up to 190! I do HPDEs at Lime Rock and even on Sam Posey straight I can only get to about 140 before needing to brake for Big Bend.

If Dan doesn't reply to your emails, that means he simply doesn't want to do business with you. I have read many posts on here giving Dan accolades for customer service, but the truth is he is very selective to whom he actually provides that service.

Rather than treat you with common courtesy and reply to your inquiries with at least something like "I'm sorry, but right now there are no slots," "I just don't have time to fit you in," or "I've really just grown beyond taking care of peons," he just ignores your emails. Then, if one has the "gall" to approach another broker, you will get blacklisted by all of them. You see, they have a little group themselves and coordinate. This would be fine if someone actually sought out to waste any of their time or was rude. However, that has not been the case with me. I actually proved over this weekend he gets the emails but just chooses to not reply after he updated a long-dormant spreadsheet record.

So, if Dan hasn't replied to your email, no, there is no excuse for the piss poor customer service or even lack of common courtesy. However, if you want to use any of the broker's services over on Leasehackr after you have made first-contact with Dan, good luck. Finally, if the excuse that I was impatient is floated, no... absolutely not. This has gone on over three months. I also never got rude or called him out on ignoring the emails; I just let it go. There was absolutely no reason whatsoever to not reply to me.

Edit: All told, he ignored four of mine. And they weren't long emails or required anything beyond a minimum of effort. They were also respectful, and I've not been jerking around. I'm ready to sign a lease. Also, if the excuse is floated that I was impatient, absolutely not true. This has gone on over three months. I also never called him out over the non-response; I just let it go. There was absolutely no reason whatsoever to not reply.

Hmm...I'm the first to admit that my email response time isn't the best. I get a lot of them and I try to spend time with the family and friends on the weekend especially after locking myself in the office most of the work week.

There is no blacklist among LH brokers...it's actually pretty competitive so not sure what you mean there. I think some tried to create one, but it was ultimately shot down because not all the brokers get along anyways.

@nerdogray sorry that's been your experience with me

Sometimes it has to be a numbers game because I work alone and have limited time. This month has been especially frustrating because inventory has been awful not to mention the lease programs are getting worse by the month. So people expecting pre-pandemic discounts and numbers are way off base.

Not a great excuse, but you should see some of the emails I get haha.

I have had only great experiences with Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers. I would recommend him very highly. I have been buying cars since 1979 and have dealt with many auto salespeople and brokers and Dan is at the top of my list. Let's have this post be the end of the subject, no need to go on for days talking badly about someone. Thx.

Hi Dan,

I would like to know if you have any allocation for a 2022 M5? Here is the link to my build sheet.

https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...2jhcrf/summary

I tried to DM you, but I don't think it was sent.

Thanks,

Tony

Can anyone please confirm if this is accurate. Does BMW corporate penalizes the dealership if their M allocation is sold to an out of state buyer? That is the reason given to me by a salesman to justify the mark up. I will not name the dealership yet.

So, you would be the out of state buyer and that is how they are justifying a markup?

If so, I'd just move on and find a different dealer. There is never any legitimate justification for a dealer markup (except for greed).

Went through the same thing. Had a dealer reach back out after the deal fell through with someone else and I was able to knock a few thousand off. That was the extent of the discount though. Everyone else quotes msrp or a few hundred off msrp.

Thanks, man. I almost wonder if it might be worth it to wait it out for a few months and see how things go. I sold my ‘18 CTS-V last month for more than it was worth 6 months ago. I guess that extra 7-8k will just be going towards the M.

It sure would be nice to be taking delivery around the holidays, though!

Yeah that's now my plan. My current lease is up in November. I had planned on ordering something next month for delivery around that time, but now I may have to wait and pick something off a lot somewhere, hopefully close to specs I wanted.
