F90 M5 vs. C8 Audi RS6
Arch rivals from the very beginning. Now with the new release, I would have to say Audi is really putting it all out there. Even better news that it will be available in the US.
The design is definitely more aggressive. Interior is completely digital compared to the F90. Only knock would be worrisome that the interior with digital tech will feel dated with how quick technology goes these days. The good news is traditionally RS is cheaper than M, so it's a lot of value right there. Funny thing to note is that it is an auto and not a dual clutch. Seems all high performance lines are ditching the DCT in favor of a traditional torque converter. What are everyone's thoughts?

The RS models in the 6 variants are always cheaper than the M series in the 5 section. As far as pricing goes, the RS7 was the best comparo to the F10/F90 and thats a dead model. I had two and both were clearly more when I got them than when I had my 2 F10's and current F90. My latest RS7 was 150k msrp. You cant even find one F90 at that level. All my RS7's had the ZF as well....
But, depending on the RS6 hp- Im game!!!

I think the performance version might get the Urus power rated V8. Last edited by Phatcat; 08-21-2019 at 10:40 PM.. |

I have alot of interest honestly.... driveability will be key though but if its not terribly slower than the F90; I wont mind.

Cheaper, take more power, just as smooth, just as quick shifting.

Folks are saying it's too overdone--I love it. As for the quoted power numbers and resulting drag strip 0-60, I think we've all learned to take that with a huge arsed pinch of salt. I'll wait for the new RS7 but this thing's definitely in the running. On pricing, my RS7 Performance was just under $150K so I'm not expecting this car to undercut the M5 pricing by much... or if at all. |

Just as quick: not consistently and even at its best, not quite. It doesn't like being hot either and convulses between gears when it is. More power: somebody should let McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche know (to name but a few). Smoother: yup, certainly when compared to my F10s or F06s. |

I'd take the E63S Wagon if I was in the US, I'm not sure why the new RS6 is all that exciting?

Agree 100% as the E is boring and a bit sterile in looks. Plus the RS6 has never been available here in the US so the pent up demand has us intrigued to say the least (or at least me).

I am doing the switch and jumping to the C8 RS6 as soon as a good opportunity comes by. Love estate cars, and the RS6 is the king of the pack.
Besides it's interior is stunning (a cut above Merc's and BMW's) and it has a subtle refined rage to it, in terms of styling inside and outside. What a beast. It may be slower, but I doubt in the real world it will make a difference. Besides OPF M5 F90 are much slower as testing has proved, so fack it. I want a RS6, and I want one badly. There is also a Performance version coming soon. If that comes soon after, with only a slight price premium, I will be selling my kneecaps for it LOL. |
