No Laser Lights for USA

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I’m being told that the USA market will not be getting laser lights for ANY 2020 model; anyone else hear this? Can confirm?

Frustrating, order guides do not show it as an available option

I think they are still limited in terms of their output being limited to 300m as opposed to 600m in EU land. (I think the LEDs reach out to 500m in EU land for comparison)

Basing that upon this video of the 7LCI, jump to 2:35 in it.

So in reality, you may not be missing anything in the US at the moment by opting for adaptive LED.

Hopefully your regulations get updated to match the EU as regards lighting.

Side note, the front grills on that 7 Series is awful! I saw one in one in person and it's as ugly as advertised.

Boban Marjanovic has presence. Doesn't mean he looks good.

The 7 series is an ugly car. I hope BMW skips the big grill for the next M5.

I don't like the grill either but having black grills on a dark coloured car will mask them to a small extent.

the spy shot of the lci 5 series doesn't appear to have these which is good. hopefully the 5 remains a relatively conservative design.

Each to their own of course.....

One more.

The designers ignored feedback from actual BMW owners, and rather went with the opinions of those who write about cars, but don't drive them. The bigger grill and the squinty lights is like a Caricature of a BMW. Add some more ugly bling on the front fender, and it's Audi land for me again.

laser lights are on other MY20 vehicles but j haven't seen them mentioned for the 5/M5 so it's possible we won't see them until LCI/full redesign
