F90 Mud Flaps
Hey guys,
Anyone know if they make mud flaps for this car? Specifically the fronts, because I'm starting to see a rock chip on the front driver and passenger doors from rocks being kicked up from the front wheels. I found a G30 part number for the mud flaps and was curious if anyone has tried them out. G30 - 82162413633 |

I talked to my detailer on saturday and he agrees, Clean the area, get rid of the ceramic coating, then PPF, then re-coat with CeramicPro. Sigh... I spent alot of money to protect the full front of the car including the pillars and the one spot I don't cover gets rock chips. |

Mudflaps
Hi all
I had my dealer check that the G30 mudflaps will fit the F90 M5 and they will fit provided that the car is not fitted with the M Performance side skirts. I have had OE mudflaps fitted to my E39 M5 since it was new in 2002 resulting in zero rock chips to the areas you are trying to protect. The G30 mudflaps are a neat compact fit and are smaller than the E39 ones. I do not think they will spoil the looks of the car too much when fitted. |

Because detailer basically tries to sell you some bullshit to make more money off you.
PPF works wonder because of its slick and elastic structure. The latest generations of PPF also have soft layer that makes it as easy to maintain as ceramic coating and hydrophobic. Not even saying about self-healing effect. Once you place ceramic coating on PPF you will make it almost impossible to easily remove from car ( if it gets really damaged you can just peel off one segment of film and place new one which you can't do after ceramic coating will harden on top of it as you would have to polish coating off it and have luck to not polish ppf with it ). Then: -Ceramic coating will be easier to scratch than PPF because of structure and this scratch will be visible on top of PPF. Which you can polish if it's not deep - yes but its extra work. -Ceramic coating on top on PPF of latest generation won't be much easier to maintain than ppf. Both are hydrophobic. -PPF will lose its ability to self heal from scratches Also when I told about structure - just touch surface of ceramic coating - you can make even small scratches with your nail or just a bit of dust/sand and your finger and compare it with PPF surface - which will be slick and really hard to scratch but if you do - you just have to boil water and "make it rain" on surface to selfheal. So to sum it up - you will lose all of the abilities other than "thicker layer" of "paint". |

Mudflaps
Sorry I have no photo's of the mudflaps fitted to the car. I had just driven the dealers demo car and this was a preventative afterthought. All that was possible was to place the mudflaps against the car and gain an impression of what they would look when fitted.
I am currently awaiting a test drive in the F90 M5 Competition which is being launched shortly in the UK before I decide which model to go for. Meanwhile if I can find a F90 M5 here in the UK with the mudflaps fitted I will post a photo for you. |

Love reviving 4 year old threads for something that's already been solved by a vendor here with an entire thread dedicated to it this mod.
